I don't know if is there a way to enhance the quality for video chat Skype, but it's bad.

My sister told me to download the Gmail chat applcation for us to do video calling. So I did. I downloaded the plugin as well, installed it. But I still don't get a video chat/call option. Anyone know what's up?

Or can you recommend prorgams such as Sype; for video calling.

Thanks.

It mainly depends on your internet connection. Remember most people's upload speeds are much slower than the download speeds so they can't send out very good quality video.
In SA you are going to have to deal with crap quality. Maybe if you both have 4MBit connections (512k upload) it will look almost as good as a 360p Youtube video.

Pretty much what Maddmatt said...

If you want to try MSN Messenger, or the empathy IM client if you using Debian/Ubuntu, but I dont personally think it'll help too much...

Cool. We're using mobile broadband. Me MTN, and she Vodacom. I'm in East London, she's in Nelspruit, so coverage's no issue. Noticed though, on the Google client, there's no video chat option, on the web though, there is. Acceptable quality. Skype sucks.
