Thanks for the link, no I am not on MBb every day so I did not see that.
I got a call this morning from an unknown number, since we were having clients over today I assumed that it might be one of their numbers that had been hidden. Instead it was some woman from FNB (apparently) who wanted to confirm my identity and sell me some top up on debt insurance on a card. The more I told her I was not interested the more she insisted. So I just told her I didn't have time to spare, goodbye.
So here's the thing, why in this day and age is "UNKNOWN" or "HIDDEN" numbers still even a thing, legal and technical wise? We should be seeing numbers, positive IDs etc. Or otherwise don't call people just text them and they can liaise with their branch. Especially for banks, especially for online banking, taking into account that the banks want to move us all off of physical cash... why aren't there laws for this, why aren't they implementing this? I mean this speaks to security in so many ways, and on top of that, what does it reflect on the institution that feels it needs to hide where a call is coming from?
I am just so incredibly gatvol of the way these institutions are handling themselves, especially the banks, and not to mention the government ones. I mean at least the gov institutes have an excuse in the form of widely known incompetency and lack of skill, but the banks ffs, like the tech-savvy ones that let you login using your mug.
God... honestly, a hole in the mattress is beginning to look a whole lot more inviting.
