yes I did download a torrent.
Yes I did run a key gen, yesterday.

Ran anti vuris, and ccleaner this morning.

Got to computer now and it is sick.
My avg is gone, their is a new dr guard.
Cannot press ctrl alt del.

Ran online virus scan. it stops at the at 50%.
Ran stinger, it kills itself.

Avg cannot scan at all.
few porn icon's on desktop.
Don't know the virus name.

Any advice how to remove it and restore system.

No, do not boot the computer. Take the drive out completely and scan it in a different (clean PC without reading anything on the drive first).

Make sure the clean PC has a good AV that is up to date. You can also run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.

Then put the drive back and boot up again... if it is running fine, then you are good... if not... you will have to refortmat the entire drive.

Hmf.. Some lessons can be taught, some have to be learned....

Anyways...if you don't have access to another pc (I sure as hell wouldn't let you plug that into my machine), you could use a virus rescue disk.

feedback:
ran malware from safe mode. remove some 60 items
install and ran stinger. found viruses, clean.
run spybot. clean alot.
install and run avast. cannot register the free version.
says cannot find the file to insert serial number.

reinstall avast, no luck.
is format my only option

With the extent of the damage unknown, it is best to reinstall your OS. You will never be sure what was damaged, and it will make future troubleshooting very difficult. Rather just format it....

I see 3 options -
Boot windows in safe mode (which should disable the new stuff) then run an AVG scan
Restore windows to a previous known working version, then run an AVG scan
Format and re-install everything

Try it in that order, easiest and pain free first, horrible and time consuming options last

Edit - its early and didnt see one of your posts. First option probably not working for you, so on to option 2...

otherwise you can try nod's online scan .....

or:

Go to PortableApps.com, get the portable version of Clamwin. put it on a flash drive, update the definitions, then plug that into your machine while in safe mode and run it. It runs without any system files so it should run just fine in safe mode. maybe that'll sort it out.

You are not listening... You will never remove ALL of the items while Windows is running in active mode OR even in safe mode. You need to scan the drive when Windows is NOT active... and the only way to do that is to take the drive out and scan it elsewhere.

If you cannot do that, then yes... reformat is you only other option.

Trying to remove viruses while Windows is running is like trying to change a tyre while the car is moving.

If you have R5, and if Chuck Norris has R5, chuck Norris has more money than you!

so I listen to Garyvdh .
format the thing, what a relief.
Change from avg to avast.

Must say the person who wrote that trojan must be clever.
[Zapchast.aom] he zapped me good.

Tremendous post count,
very easy to achieve -

Edit: I actually lol'd at TLs comment - my wife thinks I'm crazy....
