If anyone here does ASP.NET programming on VS2005 and decide for some reason it's time to upgrade to VS2008, for the love of god, please don't!!

Here's what will happen. Each time you change a property on a medium sized form, you will suffer a 30 second delay while your CPU core maxes out. This even if you open a property editor and click cancel.

This IDE REALLY sucks!!

Just moved back to VS2005, and it's a LOT better. Got to love Microsoft. The upgrade to Vista is XP and for Visual Studio 2008 it's Visual Studio 2005!

Used it for C++ and C# and I had no problems, although VS2005 is definitely more responsive in general but to me it was hardly noticeable.

EDIT: Oh I see you need generally big forms for it to happen.

EDIT2: Did you see they released a hotfix to address the issue?

I'm really not doing anything excessive but yes, on smaller forms it's OK

Didn't work. :(

I've started dabbling with VS2008 C# Express and I must say for a 'free' app it's pretty sweet.

Did you do an upgrade or complete re-install? Is the issue you're having documented else where?
