Vodacom: #EpicFail

I wonder what the CPA has to say. I feel betrayed now. I signed this contract in good faith and now thrown a rattle snake.

If the terms of contractual agreement have been materially altered, there may well be a case to present to the NCC. Would be interesting to see its outcome.

I can see a lot of people porting to Cell C this week.:wtf:

Especially if you are on prepaid and have good Cell C signal. No reason not to.

95c at CNA buys you a Cell C starter pack and you can port your number.

I am more worried about the use of a hashtag in the article headline. :-/

Hmm, I may switch providers, if they don't follow blindly.

Any suggestions?
Cell C would be the obvious ones. Maybe one of the crazy cheap 8ta deals while they are still around.

I'm speechless. I mean WTF. Who uses 100MB for email only. My attachments are around 400KB average. I have three mail boxes. I have never downloaded anything on my BB and now I am faced with this.

Fukc off VODSCUM.

100MB is ridiculous, I thought the only reason to buy a Blackberry was because you used more than 100MB of data in the first place- otherwise what is the point (Yes I know the whole secure package and email intergration, but seriously its more about cheap data).

It is an interesting one for the CPA as you signed the contract specifically for the "uncapped" internet service at 3G speeds, now they are changing the service. I suggest all you BB peeps start sending some letters of complaint to the NCC.

Which network offers the 500mb (that's FIVE HUNDRED Vodacom) of free Youtube streaming, on top of the normal blackberry service? 8ta I think.

Vodacom, take a look at your competitors. You are becoming the laughing stock...

well i dont use anywhere near 100mb per month, but whenever i try browse its unusable, so maybe throttling is the way to go.

Only those who abused BB will complain

Just having a look at all the comments, BB services were being abused for free movie downloads, etc....I know of people who keep their phones on charge permanently to do downloads using BB....hence slows down the network for honest BB users....

Do research people, this is not a Vodacom thing! It's done by most networks all over the world! Mtn, cellc and 8 ta to follow....

If 5% of Blackberry users are abusing the system why does everyone have to suffer? deal with the 5% that are abusing the service. It's really that simple.

However, the celluar providers need to put a little less into their shareholder's pockets and more into developing a "world class" internat service.

I think it should be very clear to all that Vodacom has become the new "Telkom". Telkom are actually getting themselves on track, especially with 8ta (which by the way dominates Vodacom in its own right)

You can take VC out of Telkom but not Telkom out of VC. :D

Throttle what speed?? All blackberry downloads as far as I have seen is really cra**y speeds anyways. Where I stay is really great 3G reception and my aunt who also stay close by gets realy terrible speed when downloading anything with her BB Torch.

Anyways not that this bothers me, because I hate Blackberry anyways. But really vodascum how is 100mb abuse???

Money talks. And the money that Vodacom is going to make from selling more data to people is screaming very loud right now.

I dunno man, i think this will hurt vodacom because people will move away from them.

Personally i am going to and my mom who was going to get the BB from vodacom. So that is already two clients and judging by the replies i am sure that number will sky rocket.

What does the cpa have to say about changing the rules after you sign a contract? This was not mentioned when i signed up surely they cannot just change it until i take out a new one?
