anyone knows when you book your fibre appointment online, do the guys really show up cause all I got is an SMS/email saying my fibre installation is tomorrow.

Phoned the call centre, they sent an email to the scheduling department to confirm cause they don't have a phone number that you can call, what an epic fail.

They showed up 30mins before they said they would, with my install. :)

They sent me an email with a link to confirm install date. I chose a date and then they phoned me to ask if they can postpone with one day and I said it was fine. That was it.

And the battle begins I got a vumatel login and it shows 20/2 and installation costs. The rep tried to sell me 20/20 and no installation costs.

Update: I called the vodacom rep and she agreed that the line should be 20/20 and not 20/2 hopefully this doesn't delay the installation.

So end result after almost a month of fighting vodacom have sent me the signed contract that the sales rep filled in and i did sign. she told me the agreement was 20/20 month to month and i confirmed that if i cancel there would not be costs. Turns out the contract she gave is she filled in as 20/2 and looks like if i cancel they gonna hit me with fees. I am going to try fight it as the per did sms confirmation saying the deal was 20/20. sadly i think the end result is another lesson of life and be more aware of what the sales rep do. I am not sure i can put the rep details up here but pm if you are worried. its a vodacom rep on the vumatel network.

If it's month-2-month, why not just upgrade to 20/20. Upgrading is normally free and only your monthly cost goes up...

Yeah, and they didn't pitch up .. I wonder if they already have access to a complex or you have to let them in ..

I could upgrade but its the principle if the sales staff is lying to customers this is not honest business. I do not trust them anymore and will fight to cancel the contract with out being penalized.

Why is it so hard to get proper service from these big companies, sometimes it's better to deal with the smaller guys when it comes to customer service

TBH, I did not see any fine print of cancelling and giving a months notice, on month-2-month, has penalties...

Please show me any company that gives proper service these days? :( Service delivery in SA is a joke, imo.

There is a bit that the installation and router cost will be charged prorata if the contracts is cancelled within 24 months.

So after a couple of days I'm very happy with the connection until this evening. I'm getting a lot of timeouts. Showmax keeps loading. I tried restarting everything but nothing helps.

And doing a ping test show a lot of timeouts.

I take it the only way of contacting Vodacom is to phone them?

Just read the T&Cs. They want to recover the costs of the CPE.

Example: A customer on a month-to-month price plan who cancels their contract in month 6 will be liable for the remainder
of the cost associated with the router. The recovery costs is calculated as follows: 12 month – 6 months = 6 months X
CPE cost / 12

They have a portal as well, but the link isn't working for me: www.vodacom.co.za/fibre
The fibre parts is showing on my normal cell phone contract as well, but it's not showing under Vodacom4Me or the app, which is stupid.

Our fibre is completely dead this morning. Initial Vodacom fibre impressions are negative.

I know this isn't helpful, but mine was working this morning, still is.

Apparently Eagle Canyon and surrounding areas are down. So hopefully if they fix it then it will fix all my problems. :)
