Thats a lekker start to June month.
As a 2gig subscriber receiving that extra data makes me smile.
It better not be all as Seacom is knocking at our door.
Now i turn my attention to Mtn:"Your shot!"

Agh man!
Why do people whine about everything, good things and bad?

Its a step in the right direction in my opinion, if the uptake is good, who knows... maybe bigger bundled freebies!!

"I'm a developer in a screwed up economic climate trying to fight my way into the "expert" gap, yet I don't even have internet at home and I'm falling behind every single day"

And you not the only one, everyones feeling the effects, big business to the little man on the street who got retrenched from his R2000 a month job. Its a struggle for everyone, atleast Vodacoms doing something to help even if its small. If they drop bread by 10c it means nothing to me, but to some it helps...

Hang in there man...

MB? MB? We're talking GB and Vodacom is giving min 25MB? What do people do with that, login to email before it runs out? :p

So if I read the Vodacom page correctly, this applies to ad-hoc bundles as well? If so, nice.....

I think Vodacom may sell a few 5 MB bundles over the next three months. 500% extra bandwidth = not bad ;)

Size / Rate / Promo rate
5mb / 1.85 / 0.308
20mb/ 1.40/ 0.62
75mb/ 1.17/ 0.88
150mb/0.79/ 0.68
250mb/0.556/0.505
500mb/0.378/0.343
1gig /0.282/0.256
2gig /0.189/0.172
3gig /0.191/0.174
5gig /0.193/0.175

All Above is per MB in package

Just depends on how much BW you are buying if its less than 500mb then yes they prob will sell quite a few 5mb ones :P

MTN are much too busy 'celebrating' their 15th birthday (by serial spamming and mercilessly ripping off their long-suffering clients) to be thinking about giving out freebies. Anyone coming up with a scheme like this at MTN would probably get fired.

It has to be said, though, at upwards of R200 per gig there is a VAST OCEAN of room for data giveaways.

The poll is rather funny. Good news or bad news? How can this be bad news? Surely there should be more options.

and access the Internet more frequently - from your cellphone, PC or MAC.

When will the 'tards who write these things realise that a MAC is not the same as a Mac. If only they were smart enough to just know something, do a little research. Even Mac users are guilty of this, thinking they use MAC's

Yes, MAC's - not MACs or Macs or Mac's - but MAC's

South African plurals with apostrophes are embarrassing and so are the press releases that come out talking about computers then calling the ones that don't run windows MACs instead of Macs.

Aargh!!!! Cringe!!!!!

Would you care to explain what each of those stand for :) i know the mac connected to apple but the rest?

t-mobile Uk

t-mobile in the Uk gives there pre paid clients 40Mb free everyday no need to recharge everyday to get there 40mb

All the normal rules apply, i.e. multiple bundles, roll-over, etc.

As rpm said, I predict a substantial uptake in the 5MB bundles. ;)

BTW, not really a Seacom driven thing, rather just a Data promotion. Once the effect of Seacom comes on-line, the changes in products/pricing will be more permanent. (And hopefully more substantial)

Lol 5 people voted bad news... Unless they work for the competition, how can it possibly be bad news??

i think those people who voted it as bad news, must be on MTN or Cell-C network. :p
