Vodacom introduces Multi Data SIM: 5 SIMs per contract

Now for an extra R108 / year + activation, I can be ripped off via five devices simultaneously! I'm so excited.

No thanks Vodacom, not interested, what's the point when you charge the prices you do, already cancelled your service and got myself a Cell C data promotion.

except u could never use them at the same time. this makes a huge difference. you can now have 2 pc's with 2 modems use the same data bundle saving you a lot.

Or you can get Cell C, and save even more.

What's the 9 bucks for?? It puts me off instantly.

If I have 45 sims x R9 that is R4800p.a. down the tubes!

I have a much better idea for Vodacom:

1. drop the monthly subscription fee per SIM card
2. make Data SIM available to Topup contract users
3. sack the bean counters that decided to charge for Data SIM since it was introduced several years back

Vodashop staff is really uninformed on this service. (Try to do it at a Incredible Corruption Vodacom Counter for extra fun!!!)

I tried to do it two months ago for a sim for my iPad... HECTIC!

And the service couldn't be activated on a TopUp275 Contract. No TopUp Contracts could get the additional sim... I don't know if that changed now...

Good luck!

MTN/VC rolling out all the little bells and whistles and ignoring the elephant in the room....

Go get the Vaseline, bend over and start prepping your ass for a pounding!

"The R9 monthly subscription is a promotional price, Vodacom emphasized." -> That's already a ripoff! R108 a year per device, just to have a consolidated phone bill! Wait, now that your ass is sufficiently open, let's do a double penetration just for the fun! R9 x 12 x 5 = R540 if you have 5 devices, and this only a promotional price?!!!

When last did Top-Up live up to the "advantages of contract and prepaid" tag-line???

What's the normal price of this service?

R9/SIM is the original Data SIM launch price from several years back and it still isn't available to Vodacom's untouchables (customers that have Topup contracts).

except u could never use them at the same time. this makes a huge difference. you can now have 2 pc's with 2 modems use the same data bundle saving you a lot. dual sim where only 1 work at a time is a bit of a pain really, so this is great improvement i reckon :)

Nope - the DataSIM has always allowed you to use 2 devices at the same time. I've been using my iPad 3g on my contract with a DataSIM for about 9 months, and I can use both my phone and iPad at the same time, no issues at all.

It's "DualSim" that lets only one device work at a time.

You can just imagine the powerpoint strategy meetings at Vodaworld...

Pity their energy isn't put into data pricing instead.

Thought I'd awaken this thread... it seems to be that this service is so simple that all ISP's would offer it as standard??
Why would I want three separate 1GB bundles for 3 devices when I can buy one large bundle for consumption between my laptop, cellphone and ipad?

Good job offering this Vodacom. I recently got myself an Afrihost bundle and am stuck using it on one device.

How it works if someone has already two contracts? One for voice and other for data (3+3Gig special R99)? Question is whether 3+3 data bundle can be used on the main postpaid voice SIM.

This used to be a fantastic service, as Vodacom charged R9 per Datasim. Now that charge is R99 a month and you get ZERO data for free, so just the simcard is R99. Not worth it anymore IMO

Thanks, it raises the question: Why this thread had been resurected?
