Vodacom Iphone4s Promotion

I have some idio -acracy to share with you.

If a new customer opens a Talk 1000 with Vodacom, she receive a free Iphone 4s. If an existing customer would like to change their contract to a more expensive one; ie Talk 1000 the same promotion does not apply. Now, If said consumer ( the one who wants to upgrade ) goes to Cell C for example, she can open a contract, keep her Vodacom number AND get a FREE Iphone 4s. As I explained this to Vodacom... they are not interested in losing a customer thats been with them since 1996 and spends a whole bunch every month! Serious idiots!
 
All phones available on new contracts are available as upgrades unless clearly stated that it is a new contract only promotion.

The staff are normally clueless about this, just ask them to confirm that it is indeed available on an upgrade.

Now you say change a contract, if this is during the initial 24 month period don't expect a new phone as the old contract hasn't expired, if it is after the 24 month period then you can get it.

Actually same thing happened to my dad at makro. I thought a R350 contract is enough for an iphone4 but they wanted like around R200 extra. Then the lumia is R280 on special, nope only for new contracts.
 
Simple. If a provider comes back with "the computer says no" "cough", then go to one which won't block your apple a day needs :D

If you want to stay, request that the store see about giving a full or partial discount on the handset. After a few days you should have an answer. If no, see above.

Just wondering what I may be faced with when renewing my 'Talk 130 call' contract.
Upgrade due 6 May - read number of your posts but some info maybe outdated.

Any idea if my upgrade (iPhone 4S) will be free or will I pay in ?
I don't particularly wish to go for a bigger contract.

Current deal run is until the 6th June 2012, so you can go according to the link that I posted further up.

Should the deals change, I will update it there.

Hi Occcie, consulted your monthly deals list and called Vodashop today,
The list reads iPhone4s (16gig) upgrade on talk 130 pays in R1619 -
but the guy at vodashop says R3329 once off or R169 more pm.
valid till 6 June.

Could he be on a different page? if so how do I redirect him?

Mentioned something about no stock and looong waiting list..:(

Hi Oc,
Ic have a Vodacom promo not sure if still valid but,
R289pm with new iPhone4S,
or purchase on pre paid R6990 -
still a lot more than both upgrade numbers above.
Will wait for your advice.
