Vodacom LTE data sale

Vodacom is promoting its latest data special which offers discounts on an LTE modem or tablet with a data bundle.

What's the OOB rate on these contracts? What is the theoretical speed?

Want to work out the maximum OOB bill ...

Nice deals but yeah contract and out of bundle might be high. But great deals. Would have been even better if it was top up deals cause you might find yourself in debt for the rest of your life if say you get a virus on your pc with a open lte connection on a open contract...........

There is that odd 3GB data pricing again. You effectively pay an additional R30 for 1GB data from the 1 to 2 GB deal and then you pay R70 for the next 1GB jump to 3GB.

It is the same for their post paid and topup data plans - the in bundle tariff rises around 3-4GB before coming down again. Makes no sense.

They price it that way so that people look at the 2GB pricing and think it's a really good deal. It gives people the feeling that they're ripping Vodacom off but in the meantime, Vodacom smiles all the way to the bank. In other news, I'm rocking 10GB for R199.

Still waiting for pay as you go mobile data = help us out Afrihost.

It seems like the people at Vodacom responsible for these "deals", are still living in the past. Or maybe they are ex-Telkom employees that has the bloody 3GB data limit imprinted in their brains for life. (remember how long 3GB data was the limit on Telkom ADSL).

Now let me see....watching a few YouTube videos in HD will take care of your 3GB data, and then you're going into OOB territory.

Seriously, it's LTE, so where are the 10GB and 20GB data deals?

With LTE offers.. you cannot seriously offer 500MB of data.. You need to offer atleast 50GB minimum
