I'm on prepaid - up until very recently vodacom used to send me sms messages when I was running out of data.
There would be 2 messages - one when I had 3Mb left and then one when I ran out.

Has anyone else noticed they no longer do this?

Now you run out and vodacom just starts using your airtime at OOB rates with no indication whatsoever.

Why would they stop this functionality? I know the obvious answer is so they can make more money but do they think people won't notice they are not getting warning messages anymore?

Happened to me too.
It depends how much of you data you use.
I used 500mb to finish this months bundle and use up the carry over.
I used all of it with no SMS. I only got the SMS saying you now out of bundle.
Verified the data used it was correct just no SMS.

Same thing here. All of a sudden it just runs out of airtime because of OOB. No sms to say the data bundle is finished.

Happened to me the other day too. Both data and airtime ran out

send me your number let me get the prepaid guys too look at it ..

Stop blaming it on the service providers (although they need to catch a wake up). There are ten million different apps that can show you your usage these days.

Lol ok, but at least take your head out of the sand and have a clue about your own usage on your own phone, its not that hard, not that hard at all.

Its also not that hard do your your ****ing job !!! This can only be because Vodacom are intentionally doing it.

I agree with u 100%, they are likely doing it on purpose despite what Vodacom rep says. But still, its easy to monitor your usage

Same here and I'm on contract. Always used to get the sms but haven't for quite a while.

True. I've used 126/150 MB = 84% this month. Used to get an SMS in the past but haven't received one.

I've just received a msg to say I have reached my data limit.

I wasn't blaming anyone, I was just asking if this functionality has been removed or not. It could be a new Vodacom policy or it could be a technical glitch.
