It's back up and working again thank you :D

3G not working.

Experiencing the usual Vodacom3G features/symptoms:
Starts with timeouts then disconnects then when I reconnect, no throughput and then i can't reconnect at all.

Contacted 155 and they confirmed there are problems in Cape Town. Don't ask what problems because the call centre agent could not disclose this information.

Anyway, at least they know theres a problem.

Modem: Novatel MC950D
Data: PPDB
Location: Parow-East

If I recall correctly, the guys did look at your problems, both at work and home?

Looks like there are some general problems in the Western Cape at the moment.

Yeah,
Even GPRS and EDGE are down now.
I wonder what the problem is.

Hopefully you will be able to shed some light as to what was causing the problems once its been resolved.

I just hope they can resolve it timeously.

BTW, don't stop posting but rather add as much details as possible. Some of the regions actively monitor these threads (Western Cape and KZN especially) and they often pick up on the problems here before I can escalate them.

Remember though, it's not an official place to report problems (155 is that place) but it still is worthwhile to post here.

Ok, well if the chaps in KZN are by some chance monitoring this thread, then......PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HAVE A LOOK AT THE THE KLOOF / HILLCREST / WATERFALL AREA..........................good grief, its every second day, hour after hour, no throughput, diconnects, maximum of 30 kbps on 3.6Mbps Hsdpa.............and no, its not my modem, not my signal, not my O/S.............its nothing more or less than than the fault lying on V/C's side.

Please chaps, on off on off on off on off on off just is not good enough for the money that we are paying, is causing havoc with my business and is more frustrating than can be explained here with the words that the forum rules will allow me to use.

Anyway, whatever, have actually given up moaning and asking and pointing out now. Its always report to 155, or do this or do that or try this or try that....Everything but the reliable service we should be getting for the money we are paying....when there is another service offering 10 gig with guaranteed speeds at R 699.00 per month being launched shortly.......

The banana-boys say they don't know about a general problem in that area, but if you can PM the details as per my sig, they'll see if they can stick a banana leaf in a hole somewhere to plug this for you.

Thought as much

FYI

Phoned 155 again and they have update the automated voice message stating these problems we are currently experiencing.

So at least they are aware of it and looking into it.

Hope it gets resolved ASAP.

Looks like the Banana leaves worked this time. Much better now, earlier it took close on FIVE minutes to complete a Vodacom Speed test.........Hoping they keep that hole plugged........:(

HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHA - I love your signature ....

CLASSIC!!!!!

:D

I'd like to change it back to the original "I like to move it move it, you like to...MOVE IT" but not as long as this thread remains the biggest thread on Mybroadband. ;)
Ok, I'll consider it if VC introduces an unlimited access option that beats Neotel's. :)
