Vodacom Problems: Slow Throughput, trying to Connect, DNS, High Latency

How about Randpark Ridge?

We haven't a 3G link for about 3 or 4 days - just about nothing. I assumed Vodacom would pick it and fix it, but after 4 days I realise I need to say something :/

And yes, I am trying to contact 155 ... but they're receiving higher than normal calls and there's a long line.

My office is in Randpark Ridge. I'm in the middle of 3 towers Honeydew, Panarama and one on the corner of Beyers Naude and Eastwood. I can select which one to connect to with my antenna.

You most likely had the same problems that i did.

I have no external antenna - so I can't select which tower to connect to.

I'm about 700m from your office - actually on Eastwood. Nothing else I can do?

Just tried Honeydew again with the LDPDA antenna. It shows good signal but no data throughput and bad pings.:(

Sundowner... client can connect but no access.... airtime and everything is loaded. :)

Using VMC Light. Flushed the DNS and everything. Reinstalled the client but no cigar.

Sundowner ... Randpark Ridge ... Honeydew ... quite close to each other :/ Actually getting ridiculous now :(

Thanks V3G!

Just out of interest - do Vodacom monitor their network - or do you rely on us dialing 155?

Both, we have a huge network monitoring center that monitors the complete network. But sometimes things can go down in such a way that it's not detectable.

So, always call 155 or drop them a mail.

If everyone thinks someone else reported the problem, no-one will. :)

cool cool!

So in this particular case, are you telling them about Randpark Ridge and surrounds - or should I email? ;)

No, don't worry. They're already busy looking into it.

Can someone check Honeydew so long?

I have done a few connection tests and it is still the same. As soon as I point the antenna at the tower at Honeydew shopping center all I can do is connect, no pages load.

Still nothing in Randpark Ridge (and it appears Weltevreden, Sundowner, Honeydew) :(

I am in Kempton park and got the same problem i connect load 1 page then press f5 5-10x before the next page comes up

Going into my 5th day of no 3G in Randpark Ridge :/

Can you guys not just unplug the Vodacom network and plug it back in after 30 seconds to reset?

Sometimes I do that with my router ...
