I also get error 619-anyone know what this means and how to fix it?

yeah, I have been experiencing the same thing. It comes and goes though. Sometimes ok, othertimes not.

I had a problem connecting in Boskruin, Randburg (home) after 9 on Tuesday evening and haven't been able to connect since. I tried on both the desktop and laptop with no joy, at work in Kyalami it connects fine. (E220) I don't know which tower I connect to (home) but can see it about 350m away, when it was connecting it was at top speeds.

Also had problems here in the Nelspruit area, seems to be fine now

CAn you please post your location and as accurately as possible when it started. Trying to do some correlation.

Same thing is happening in Oude Westhof, Durbanville. Very slow speeds and random disconnects even though my Nokia 6680 says full 5 bars 3G.

Just got a call from someone at Vodacom to say the problem has been resolved in the last half an hour or so but I don't have my laptop here to test it, are there still problems?

Any idea what's going on V3G? Whatever problems they sorted don't seem to have made any difference here. :(

Thanks V3G.

Bishopstowe (PMB, KZN) has been back on 3G since about 10AM and all's well :D

Connecting doesn't seem to be a problem anymore, still losing signal a lot though.

Yeah it seems to be happening all over, getting the same thing here and I'm far from Cape Town.

Similar problems in Moreleta Park. Earlier this year it was the problem of downlink speed getting slower and slower until it drops right down to zero while still connected. That seemed to improve early April, but its back again, now accompanied by disconnects.

Vodacom speed test shows fair speeds of +/- 800Kb download, whats displayed at the bottom of dashboard is a totally different story. Mostly less than 20Kbps and an occasional peak up to 100Kbps.

Looking at the posts in various threads I must conclude that this is not a localised problem

I definately had a DNS server problem on Sunday.

Pings to the DNS server were being returned on average 500ms, but DNS queries to the server were timing out.

I could get to web pages by typing the IP address in the browser but not when typing the domain name.

Anyone know if there is such are any free DNS servers available for when this happens?

To save you wading through the site...
DNS1 : 208.67.222.222
DNS2 : 208.67.220.220
