Stellenbosch cnr of Church and Andringa streets. Same story. Random disconnects, poor speed - speed test only 122kbps down 52kbps up - When reconnecting after a "dropped connection/line" I have to disconnect and reconnect up to three times before the connection allows sending and receiving data. Using Nokia 6630 on 3G connection at -73dBm as measured by Celltrack. Telkom site Ping 360ms avarage - zero packet loss, tested several times throughout the day.

Stellenbosch, just west of Paul Roos school in Suidwal Street. Still getting about 120 kbits/sec on the vodacom speed test and 110 kbits/sec on the Iburst test.
Pinging telkom.co.za or vodacom gives time-outs about 1 in 6 pings. Nokia 6680 with -89 dBm signal.

Refreshing mybroadband.co.za/vb just now took about 36 seconds to completely load the page.
Just tried a 4 threaded download of Skype (international server) and couldn't get more than 126 kbits/sec
No disconnects tonight though.

This morning, 20 April, at 06h45 I'm getting 222 kbits/sec on the vodacom test, a bit better, and about 1 in 10 pings times out.

I'm having slow throughput problems - been this way for a week or so now, although over the last 3 months I have consistent problems. I'm building up quite a history with 155 ;)

Novatel Card, 3 bars of signal, Vodacom Speed Test results: DL: 45kbps UL: 13kbps

The cel name is "Kei Mouth Rd" - you guys enabled this tower for Edge a few months back, so I'm more used to seeing DL speeds around the 120-150 mark.

Any chance you can look into this for me?

This morning again getting PPlink errors - can't connect with my VC sim. Other sims are fine no problems.

Mine would just hang when connecting, eventually connected on about the 7th attempt.

Grahamstown, Oatlands, speeds are decent at the moment, just have problems connecting and get random disconnects and times when the connection just dies for a while.

I'm affraid its getting worse for me. In the 10 minutes of being connected I've been thrown off once already and had to reconnect four times to be able to receive any data.

Guess I'm trying my Virgin sim this morning again....

Groot Brak, Mossel Bay.

Noticed speed issues last night for the first time since the new issues began to be reported on forum. Found that HSDPA was not available but GPRS Ok.

This morning HSDPA is available but had trouble connecting and got dropped a few times. wrt54g3g router did not show connection dropped until manual refresh.

Have to say that post_Feb 2007 has been a roller-coaster as far as QOS goes with VC, and the dips have been more severe than the highs...

3G has totally dropped out here in Rondebosch, Cape Town since last night... I have got to connect via GPRS but cannot find a single 3G network around.

Could this be related v3g?

CT, Rondebosch was running 3g last night and then it just dropped me... now it can't even see a 3g network at all, and still this morning... I had to connect on GPRS

i'm in florida hills (roodepoort) and have been struggling too. yesterday and the day before unable to connect for more than a couple minutes at a time.

No 3G and now disconnectes on GPRS as well from time to time... very slow and sometimes does not load pages at all...

3G throughput was fine last night but when I lost that signal and had to go on to GPRS it was almost unusable, much worse than normal.

Same problem here in cape town... last night 3g went dead and gprs was sloooowwww....

Now I haven't seen a 3G signal since.

Just waited for half an hour to speak to a consultant on 155... all i can say is they must be busy and they are trying to fix things up.
