Took 20 to 30 disconnects and reconnects to get bi-directional data flow going  Pity V4me is 3hours delayed otherwise I could have posted the last ten transactions.

 delayed for pre-paid? - I've found v4me to be in-synch shortly after a disconnect for pre-paid, should only be contract stuff that is stuffed into a black-hole for 3 hours or longer...

I'm on a Top-Up contract supposedly a "best-of-both" hybrid. Unfortunately they forgot to mention that some of the k@k we hate is also included in these contracts.

Network seemed ok this morning but when I got back in late this afternoon it seems to be back to its old tricks. Had quite a few 'Server reset the connection' incidents reading this thread and posting this reply! Saturday just past was undoubtedly the best I have seen the network for a long time - pity it didn't last:(

I am now into 11 weeks of this nonsense. Cannot FTP now either. Looks like service after service is just failing .... I can ping things but that's about the only productive thing I can do right now. It takes multiple refreshes just to access the myadsl forums.

I wonder if anyone remembers that episode of Friends where Monica is sitting in her apartment flicking a wall switch on an off wondering where it's connected to. Meanwhile next door Phoebe & Joey are watching a TV that's keeps going on and off. I swear today there is some guy flicking a switch in Vodacom's network. For a few minutes everything is DEAD and then a few minutes later its like HSDPA on steroids and then DEAD ........

Oh come on guys... Every Network has its ups and downs. If we were such "Loyal" subscribers, we would have more faith in Vodacom to deliver.

Well, some ups would be nice for a change - lately we've had mostly downs. They have to give us something to have faith in!

Although having said that, last night was actually quite an improvement for me - hopefully those fixes are being put in place, and hopefully it doesn't start going downhill again.

I have to admit that i had mostly good connections last night, started off slow, then seemed to get better from 2000ms - 800ms had a few spikes, one of the best connections I have had this past month. But how long will it last. I will moitor the connection tonight as well. I still would like to cancel my contract because 1 night out of 30+ night doesnt mean its fixed, or that it wont happen again a month or two down the line.

Faith went out the door two weeks ago. I could maybe understand a week of probelms but more than a month now. Where is vodacoms Loyalty to its customers???? Where would we even find what the problem is if it wasnt for this forum? I show my loyalty every month when I pay my account. I have left about 10 messages for Andre Liberty from Vodacom to call me and not a word. Loyalty works boths ways

Must confess cancelling my contract also entered my mind but fact of the matter is who would one replace voda with cause the rest as just as useless. As they say in the land of the blind the man with one eye is king. I honestly believe Vodacom is the best of a bad bunch and I also believe v3g when he says they doing everything in their power to improve the product/service. So my decision is to persevere a little while longer...

Maybe we will see, not bound by 3g though. What gets to me is that I play World of Warcraft connecting to the US servers. Another user on these forums connects to the same server using MTN Edge and he gets a better more stable than me using HSDPA. So who actually is king?

For those of you north of the Orange river, can we get some feedback on throughput on:

1- VC Speedtest: http://speed.vodacom.co.za (VC portion)
2- SpeedTest to Cpt on http://speedtest.net (local SAIX)
3- SpeedTest to Ne York on http://speedtest.net (international SAIX)
4- SpeedTest to London on http://speedtest.net (international SAIX)

My results in Cpt:

1- 1073/347
2- 831/289 (223ms)
3- 530/300 (446ms)
4- 560/311 (405ms)

Hate to be the black sheep, but yes fantastic improvement (if it lasts) but where is our compensation for the past month. I personally feel that Vodacom should double our cap for the next month, to make up for the last one. Think its a fair deal.
