PPDB Doringkloof Centurion. APN InternetVPN

Which sites? Maybe I can try and emulate with FF from Cpt?
@v3g.

I have been on/off for several hours today and have not had any really hickups. No timeouts etc. The Smiles on the side would now and again popup one after the other. For me it has been OK.

Hellopeter was dimming but it is lighting up again.

I am using InternetVPN..... could this be it.

:)

Ok, we cleared the throat of the DNS server that serves the Midrand / Pta / KZN area. Did find a frog in it.

Let me know if things are better / worse / same.
Cannot access pop server as mentioned before clearing this frog.
There isn't another one of these beasts serving the East Rand?
Could the root cause not be hiding in packet loss somewhere - which, in turn causes confusion down the line at the dns side?

Message I got was:
No DNS server (Valid name but no data record of requested type)

Have actually put the Virgin sim in to get mail and post this.

I can use the Forum, Icon's pop up slow but it is workable faster than GPRS.

Does this have anything to do with it. Maybe same issue when SAIX/Verizon went down the other day?

A lot of the affected sites seem to be similar to the Verizon problems on Friday, so the guys are looking into it.

Me again.

A question that has been asked.

What kind of data bundle's are you guy's using. Contract or Prepaid.

If it is DNS error's then I don't think it matters. But could help the guy's trying to locate the problem. It just seems to be very Random.

I'm on a contract(1Gig) now. Globetrotter 3G+ HSDPA Card. Speeds are average, but stable. Still intermittent disconnections, especially after 7pm tonight. Was connected all day without disconnections.

PPDB. APN = InternetVPN

What mode is your modem set for ?
I have set mine for 3G only and it is holding ok. I am also using internetvpn as APN. I dont think it should make any diffs.

I haven't activated the internetvpn service yet. I'll send the activation forms to Vodacom tomorrow and will then switch over to internetvpn.

Will let you guys know tomorrow after work if the problem still persists.

Good night.
