Vodacom Problems: Slow Throughput, trying to Connect, DNS, High Latency

Can only comment on my latency whilst playing World of Warcraft (Too lazy to run speed tests lately).

11pm or so last night: Ping jumped from 800ms to 1500ms.

Switched to ADSL (Unshaped, 384k) and ping was a nice 400 - 500ms.

FYI: Contract user with 3G one, E620 data card with external antenna, signal strength -61dbm.

Sadly, I think I am going to cancel / give my contract away as 3G just isn't stable enough for me.

Having serious issues in connecting to any (GPRS , EDGE , 3G or HSDPA) connection on Vodacom this afternoon.

Doesn't matter what profile I select , same message keeps on appearing lower LH side in Dash.

When I try to connect - 619 appears :(

Currently on out of bundle rates - on a prepaid sim.

Using latest version of Dash (downloaded from VC).

Location is Hatfield / Arcadia.

internet and internetvpn are working tonight but unrestriced apn is down tells me thats its connected but no data in or out , SO i guess theirs no connecting to the office again tonight , Been like this for two days now , I am also on Prepaid , Pity that we are the test dummys.

Of course GPRS is down here again on my prepaid account, and my gfs prepaid account in Centurion cant connect either...

Just call me Siener supersunbird...:D

PPDB: I am having endless issues with throughput and 619's using unrestricted.

Edit: Also getting terrible speeds from speed.vodacom.co.za (signal is 3 bars)
Download Speed: 91 kbps (11.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 18 kbps (2.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

On a 4U contract and EDGE... have had problems for the past 48 hours with server resets and pages reloading... sometimes cant even hit the DNS server... slow as a slug when I do get a response... local and international... now using my trusty E65 with an MTN SIM its about 10 times more reliable...

Getting disconnected every 3mins of being idle for the last 3 hours. After about 5 to 7 619's, i can connect, then the process repeats.

On Contract. E220. Signal Strength 95 - 97%. Got disconnected while typing this!!!

Wait, let me go reconnect...

[*Connecting...*]

619 number 1...

[*Re-Connecting...*]

Connected. Wow, what an improvement... one 619...

GPRS seems to be working for me again.
Wonder for how long..

Edit:
Dead again.

Good old VM to the Rescue!!

Ppdb

Is there anybody that is interested to try and tell us, Vodacom's most loyal user WTH is going?? Is the system ever going to be stable??

Can anybody recommend another wireless ISP that is more relaible. It looks like anything more than +- 2 days online is more reliable than VC at the moment. Are the problems PPDB related or is the rainy season? Should we all rather just go back to wired system's? Any recommendations?

If the ISP's can't provide the service to the volume of users they have then say so and stop selling connectivity untill & when they are reading to provide a reliable & stable service. Or just credit us every month 50% of our subscription's untill the systems are realiable again

After my last disconnect just before 9PM last night I managed to stay connected for about 3 hours.

That would be just plain crazy. lol

Would also be great if people actually pay for the data they DID use. ;)
Or the modems they received for 'free'.....

I pay (dubbel en dwars [R2/MB]) for the data I try to use! :p
 What 'free' Modems? :p
