Vodacom Rollover is here

2) Contractual obligations must first be honoured before any benefits or freebies kick in. This is a legal requirement.
What about the contractual obligation to supply the data that was paid for in the previous month?

The remaining data bundle balance from the previous month is definitely not a freebie.

Why wont vodacom let me use my carried over data?

So i have 600mb left over from last month, and the only way I can use it is to flatten all my existing bandwidth from this month, then I will be able to use my carry over from last month.

Which underhanded thief came up with this?

VODACON .. YOU SUCK!

Vodacom are thieves when it comes to finding loopholes in your wallet.

Its actually against the law if you consider the purchase of bandwidth a commidity. But what are you going to do? Sue them? lol.

Did vodacom finally change their doff data carry over rules?

Well Apr i had left over bandwidth,so it got carried over for June. 500MB odd
June I used a lot of data, 700MB+, So my original 600Mb allocated for June should of been used all up and 100MB of the left over from Apr should of been used. So according to vodacom i should of had no June BW to carry over. But now in July I see i do have plenty 1.1 gig odd, thats 500 over.

Here is an explanation.

January
Starting Bundle = 1000 megabytes

Amount Used = 0MB
Amount Available = 1000MB

February
Starting Bundle Balance 1500 megabytes (1000 megabytes + 500megabytes from last month)

Amount Used = 1000MB
Available Balance = 500MB

March
Starting Bundle Balance 1000 megabytes (1000 megabytes + 0megabytes from last month)

Vodaconfused?

Question: Why is my remainder of 500megabytes expired from last month?
Answer: When your data rolls over to the following month they put your fresh bundle before your old bundle

When the new month February starts, Vodacon puts the fresh bundle (eg. 1000 MB) in front, so that it is used up first, thereafter you can access your carried over data from last month.

You will have to burn through all of February's 1Gig or else the 500megabytes that came from January will expire.

I wonder if you noticed, that of the 1000megabytes unused in January only 500 Megabytes carried over to February. That is because they(Basterd Vodacom) only roll over half of your available data balance.

I hope you understand this crazy scam of a deal.. I think this is very unscrupulous business practice and just shows how much they love my money.

DATA CONTRACT & MONTH-TO-MONTH SPECIFIC RULES

Unused allocated data (MB) will be carried over up to the last calendar day of the next month.

Example 1:
A customer subscribes to a My Meg 500 24-month contract on 1 May and is allocated 500MB to use up to 30 June.
On 31 May, the customer has used 250MB of the allocation and on 1 June is granted 250MB carry-over (carry-over equals 500MB allocation in May less 250MB usage in May).
On 1 June, the customer is allocated 500MB to use up to 31 July; the 250MB carry-over from May is added to use up to 30 June.
On 30 June, the customer has used 250MB which is less than the monthly 500MB allocation and forfeits the 250MB carry-over from May; the customer however has 250MB carry-over to July (carry-over equals 500MB allocation in June less 250MB usage in June).
The new data bundle allocated at the beginning of the month will be used first, before the carry-over data bundle.
Example 2:
A customer subscribes to a My Meg 500 24-month contract on 1 May and is allocated 500MB to use up to 30 June.
On 31 May, the customer has used 250MB of the allocation and is granted 250MB carry-over (carry-over equals 500MB allocation in May less 250MB usage in May).
On 1 June, the customer is allocated 500MB to use up to 31 July; the 250MB carry-over from May is added to use up to 30 June.
On 30 June, the customer has used 700MB; the total monthly allocation for June is used and 200MB of the 250MB carry-over is used; thus the customer forfeits 50MB left over from the May carry-over.

So.. as you can see its a little more complex than "You can carry over 1 month of unused data."

But why do Vodacom screw the people who don't even use their bundles up properly?

it just doesn't make any sense screwing the people who pay for a service and don't really use it - those are the customers that vodacom should try to keep at all costs?!

I understand vodacoms crazy way of doing it, however according to that way I should not of had any carry over into this month, but I do.

If I have purchased a data bundle from Vodacom, why put an expiry date on it?

Like if I dont use the petrol in my tank within two months, I must drive my car to the filling station and they'll pump out any petrol still in my tank.

Does this make sense to ANYONE??

Your petrol will evaporate...

LOL - couldn't resist

... the problem is that they can't "store" your unused gigs...it still sucks though!

The ADSL ISPs manage to allow you a full year to use your pre-paid data with going bankrupt, and they have a much smaller revenue stream than Vodacom does...

Hi Guys

I am on a Top up 500mb contract and I have never had any of my data bundles "rolled over"

I lost over 300mb this month. Is this only for prepaid users or certain contracts? :(

Vouch, my uncle was one of these clients. They talked him into a data bundle which went unused for months until I realised he had such a device and started using it just so that he isn't paying for nothing.. but I mean we lost so many gigs and they didn't have the courtesy to tell him he is paying for something that he isn't using..

It was initially bought for his daughter who came visiting from hong kong. She raped the dongle (unknowing what data cap was) so not only did he only use the device for about 1 month but he got charged R2000 for one month's over spending.

That was nothing new to him because vodacon has charged him over R8000 for call roaming while he was in Namibia for 2 weeks.. all I can do is LOL

***Vodacon is really such a crooked ass company***
