Hi there,

I've been having constant issues with signal at my building and it's gotten to a point now where my phone is breaking up for almost every call I answer at my home! It works fine outside of my home e.g clear calls, 4G signal, etc. Please can you assist?

I stay in the Point Waterfront area in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.
We're covered for 4G/LTE signal in our area.
Apparently, our walls are too thick at our building and hence the networks battle to get proper reception at our home.

My other family members whom are with MTN had to get MTN to install a small booster device at home and now their signal is working fine and always crystal clear.
I had opted for Vodacom a while back and do not want to change to MTN as I simply hate their network. Please can you assist with helping me get a Vodacom Booster installed?

Even if call quality isn't that grand, I would prefer 4G/LTE or even HSDPA signal at my home as I constantly purchase gigs upon gigs of data as I run an online business. I need Vodacom's signal to work well enough to be a reliable backbone if my ADSL line is busy.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

From past experience Vodacom is not likely to install these boosters imo, i had better luck with MTN. had a booster installed at my place and signal is working great!

What you are requesting is a result of a process as used by most networks. Let have a look at that process.
  1. Call 082111 or send an email to customer care reporting "poor signal" problems , making sure you obtain a Service Ref number.
  2. Wait for Vodacom to respond.
  3. Vodacom will normally respond by checking the signal with you.
  4. The Vodacom Staff will then recommend a solution ie.Signal Booster etc.
If no response from Vodacom draw up a properly formatted letter to the office of the CEO.
Please ignore many of the troll replies as they may not follow the procedures. There are NO forum short cuts to your problem resolution.

Exactly what I did and they are coming to install the booster today. As soon as you have the reference number, follow up every week to make sure they are giving it attention. Eventually they send out techies to measure the signal and from there you have to be patient again.. make sure to take the techies details so that you can contact him to follow up on the status.

Tried this a couple of years back to try to help my mom & dad on the farm (they have been vodacom customers for many years). They have a small spot on a cupboard with very weak signal (comes and goes), vodacom eventually came back to him asking him to change settings on his phone. He tired to explain to them that its not related to settings, but they ignored him... My dad isn't very tech savvy and gave up... I recently tried pleading with Jannie via PM but this obviously has nothing to do with him... I wish they still had a form rep here. Maybe I should try again but give my contact details instead of my dad's.

Alright so just as a follow-up, Vodacom finally got back to me last week regarding the issue at hand. The lady said that Vodacom are aware of the problem in my Area and that a decision has been made to build a better Tower close by. I asked her what exactly she was talking about because the moment I step outside of my house the signal is at full bars and the data speed is at 4G, as far as I know the problem isn't the area itself but rather inside the buildings. The lady just had a don't care attitude and said that I should just wait for the towers to come online. I asked how long would this procedure take and she stated years.

So that's it. I've had it with pathetic service from Vodacom. If this is how they treat customers, I would rather begin my search for something that's more reliable for my needs.

It just bugs me that they're so happy-go-lucky when taking your money, and yet when you need something from them to actually make use of their service they treat you like you're worth nothing to them!

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED!
