This is not good news. Dot is one of the heavyweights in the industry and it was not easy to catch her with her phone off. We often received feedback from her at midnight over a weekend – not something which can be said for all communication officers.

I've known Dot for many years and she is indeed one of the more professional PR people around. Taught me a huge amount.

Nah, I know Dot worked extremely hard the last 15 years and probably want to take a break. But I also know someone like her will get itchy again at some point. Thus 'retirement' in quotes.
I know from my past corporate experience that a senior official of a company just does not just resign and leave like she has.
The underlying reasons could be the changes that will certainly start happening in the new restructuring of VC.
A good "spin" from VC would go a long way to stop speculation.

Sorry but good riddance, every time I heard her speak, I got the impression she was lying. Maybe thats just the way the job is.

Well "Vodafone South Africa" err Vodacom is restructuring last i checked , i expect a few of these to happen in the coming time....this is what happens when an international enterprise takes over a company , right ?
