Vodacom top four make R85m

Thats alot for some of us, but surely they feeling down, the leading network with the 2nd highest pay....

If/when Vodacom lists, their packages will increase a fair bit.
 
how much lower do u think that would be if they just decided to roll over the data bundles?
 
Absolute bollocks. No job in the world justifies a salary like that. A couple mil maybe but not an exorbitant figure like that..

The argument about very high executive salaries is not new – the main problem is that if you don’t pay these salaries the top guys will simply leave and go to a company which actually pays these salaries. Big companies always have a few guys which the company does not want to lose (typically the four top guys at Vodacom), and they must somehow ensure they stay there…

The only solution is to cap salaries, but that creates more problems in my view.

What I can however say in Vodacom’s case is that these guys work extremely hard – I often email some top guys at Vodacom at 01:00 and get a reply within 5 minutes. And they take a tremendous amount of responsibility.

The only thing bothering me now is that I send those emails at 01:00, reply to them after I get a response but are missing a few zeros on my paycheck :D

Then who decides what salary they 'deserve'? You? If they earn that in a competitive market then good for them.

How do Vodacom CEO's salaries compare to say bigger fish out there say,
AT&T and NTT Docomo or Softbank? Do their execs get paid so much?

I only wonder.... there was a big deal about the Coca Cola CEO getting a 6 mil Dollar
Bonus once - and that was Coca Cola not Vodacom.

I would assume that the top execs at say NTT Docomo should be pulling in
7-8 times that, at least the size diff of the market....altho I bet they work
harder and there is more family pride involved if someone f-cks up.
