So only expecting fibre after 6-12 months in my area of a new office.
What will be the better option to run VoIP on in the interim? LTE or microwave?

VoIP works perfectly on Cell C LTE and Giga 200 prepaid package (50+150GB) valid for 365 days. Giga 100 is now a better option for the same promotional price R999.

Do you need a special LTE antenna if you are in an office block?
How much is the router?

No antenna needed if signal good, the Huawei LTE routers are R1800-2000, and remember to change the SIP ALG setting otherwise no call would last longer than couple of seconds.

I don't have external antenna in the building covered with corrugated steel roof.

Look for Huawei B315s router in Edgars/Jet/CNA stores R999 or a MiFi router with a battery. At least one Ethernet port is a nice feature, but not sure whether MiFi devices have it. There are frequently specials in these stores (Telkom section).

Been running our 3CX off LTE (Telkom) for 1 year now and no issues.
