Vox Telecom Fatpipe

Your local exchange is the issue ... congested? Where in Pinetown? With all the freaking digging going on, I'm surprised there aren't more outages here....

I dont get replies from the local exchange since Telkom updated their dynamic synching system... what are your SNR ?

heres my TracerT

ping is off tho...

My screenies show the tracert/congestion issues. I'm in Farningham ridge. My SNR is good. Up/down: 14,0 / 18,0

It's not as good as FDM in my opinion.

It seems FDM breaks up the torrents into blocks and they download at full speed this way.

Never liked FDM for downloading torrents, I use a seedbox anyway.

Although FDM does help max out a 50mbit connection.

My point is that uTorrent can not reach full speed very often but with FDM it always reaches full speed.
Well that is my experience.

Anybody else having buffering issues on Hulu tonight? Every couple of minutes it buffers for a bit and continues.

10mbps line on Telkom. Tested with Vox 100Gb Fatpipe, 25Gb with Uncapped bolt-on and my Crystalweb capped account.

I get the feeling it is not just Vox.

You know what? Even when there is exchange congestion, past 10pm and Vox is absolutely useless, whereas Mweb performs amazingly. @sand_man i'll take those login deets to try out, because this is seriously **** internet for gaming.

From about 21:00 Vox becomes useless here. Switch to another provider, perfect. Sucks big time.

This. This. This. I'm going to chalk this up to exchange issues since Telkom is doing maintenance on the exchange. Even so, using any other ISP after 9pm gets me a much improved quality of internet. Hell, even now I'm getting better internet on Mweb, who I downgraded from to come to Vox.

Have to say, since I have moved to Vox FatPipe. NOT A SINGLE problem!!!

All services streaming now in full HD - which I never experience in 1.5 years with AH!! And streaming on multiple devices, downloading updates and surfing simultaneously. I could never do this previously. No buffering. Even from 22h00 onwards - and I'm in the south.

Very happy!!

I get the impression not all VOX fatpipe accounts were created equal. Having 2 x 100gb last night, while one was under performing, I chose to use the other and the difference in performance was significant.

Today I'm downloading the Windows 10 ISO using the Windows 10 download tool. On my WA capped account no better than 200KB/s. Switched to VOX fatpipe and....

I also found that ^^^, BUT, changing logon details on the router is almost the same as a port reset, that might be why the 2nd VOX account performed better.

Signing up for VOX FP...
