Vox Telecom Fatpipe

As promised, here is a video showing Ping Plotter and how the hops are changing. This is using Vox, setup in my router.

Thanks for sending this through. I will be going through it with NetOps tomorrow morning. Here's my experience from JHB DSL http://i.imgur.com/fr7g6T0.png

Regarding Kido.tv; some very interesting things I found. A lot of the content that I streamed seemed to have come through akamai http://i.imgur.com/Uc9ssgF.png I found that the protocol which Kido is using, is handled correctly on our network for optimal experience.

During these tests, the IPC which I was on, was no where near congestion.

I'll update tomorrow or when I've got a bit more detail on this issue.

Remember ICMP is handled differently from IP when multi routing takes place. That is why routes may seem like they hop.
Tests like this are very subjective and why ping is just an indication for fault finding.

Most routers handle multiroutes and Qos on a per session basis.

The reason for the bouncing of routes is due to load balancing of international links. I've been sitting with the NetOps team this morning and there are a few changes that they are going to make in the next few hours.

This has also opened a bit of a can of worms in JHB as well where I think some people were complaining about some issues that we couldn't narrow down; now we've got a great source of test data from last night to work with.

I'll update once changes have been applied in CPT region.

Regards,
Chris

I totally understand! My wife yells at me when Netflix buffers ... She gives me that eye and says "You're job is to make the internet great, what's this?!" ... trolled by the wife in real life is worse than buffering I assure you!

I'll look into Kodi tonight.

Let me know about Facebook video if you notice a difference or not.

:D and this why Netflix/Hulu was tried and abandoned in the AfricanTech household

I wasnt using IMCP packets for testing, but thanks for mentioning anyway.

Anyone having authentication issues this morning?

None of my Vox accounts seem to be working.

As long as these guys keep up what they are doing, I am unlikely to change to any other ISP

Thanks for sorting it out so quickly, Vox.

Also appreciate the call to confirm.

That's great customer service.

Uncached(?) youtube vids are quite tedious to buffer else everything is golden so far.

Spent the evening working with NetOps, changes applied to JHB region so far; same changes being made to CPT (just unsure if they are live yet at the time of posting this)

Here's a view of the changes made: http://i.imgur.com/sqQSaIG.png

I think you'll like it.

Chris

Connection seems to be dropping every few minutes for like a second or two.... you guys having issues?

Nothing, am running the VPN daily...
That thing is sensitive to drops... file transfers also would have shown up issues.
