Vox Telecom Fatpipe

My Fatpipe account is sluggish currently! JHB area, on all protocols.

If there no known issues currently, I will phone Telkom for a port reset.

Could not watch my IP TV and champions league soccer games last night. It is fine for few minutes and then constant buffering. Before I was able to watch HD TV with this account now SD is terrible. Something is very wrong with VOX lately and it is not only CT by the look of it. Bolt-on account JHB Edenvale.

You're not alone. When I first joined VOX, the quality of bandwidth was notably unlike any other ISP in the country. YouTube would stream perfectly at line speed, Twitch would not buffer, and everything was generally very snappy.

Since the uptake of the promo 100 & 300GB promo accounts, I am now experiencing the same problems as I had on previous ISP's which led me to buy the VOX products in the first place: Constant YouTube buffering, Twitch won't stream on anything but LOW (even when using livestreamer), and other persistent glitches such as slow iTunes/Microsoft updates, or Facebook pictures not loading (if this is an Akamai problem, can't they route us to another Akamai POP, or get their own POP if they pride themselves with quality service? These days half of the internet is hosted on AKAMAI anyway so there's no excuse.)

I don't want to cancel my newly acquired VOX accounts, and am optimistic that they are speaking the truth about trying to resolve these issues with a matter of urgency; but something tells me we're actually just going through another Afrihost-esque story of "keep making promises to the customers that we are trying to fix things, whilst we continue to run at max capacity with no real plan in place to correct this - the longer we can keep them paying the more profit we can make". Well my patience fuse is running short, to the point that my cancellation mail is already sitting in my drafts folder waiting for dispatch if these issues do not become evidently lessened in the coming days (because it really just seems to be getting worse by the day)

Yeh this is getting old fast now.
It's clearly related to the specials because the years I've been with VOX it has never been like this.

40Mb VDSL in PE.

I've been with Vox for over a year and never had any issues. Full line speed any time.

The past few weeks have been terrible. I'd be lucky if I can stream anything. It's definitely related to all the specials.

Time to find a new isp

Can't stream anything since last night. Hope its nothing serious... but it always is.

There is nothing wrong guys. What do we know. Our results mean nothing

So did you call Telkom and ask for that port reset?

I'm next to Northwold in Sundowner, streaming HBO NOW: The Leftovers, full HD no issues on my 6Mbps line. I have no special configuration on my account, I'm on a consumer bolt on account.

EDIT: As I submitted, I've had my stream buffer twice for 10 seconds each time. Wife asked me why it's happening, I said karma.

Damn I love having 600ms on WoW man, its legit :P. I play on Private WoW server, Called Warmane, I used to get 176 ms on it highest it got was 220ms. Now I am getting 300-600ms. I am now on WebAfrica test account it working fine. I posted a tracert to www.warmane.com, I never had a problem with my Vox account on that WoW sever, now for almost 2 weeks now it been like this. Just want it to get fixed again :P.

I play on a server called Deathwing which is from Warmane and server is located in London. I got a weird spike there at the 8th hop at 162 ms which is weird but okay.

Also I am on this Teamspeak server cptts.gameservers.com:9460 which is Cape Town Teamspeak, I use to have 8ms - 13 ms on it, now it spikes randomly from 8ms-60ms (8%+ packet loss)while no one is on the internet.

I also play Smite, an Europe server located in Amsterdam, my ping used to be 180ms-200ms, now I have 223-260ms and sometimes spikes to 350ms.

So that is my feed back. :P Wonder if this only Cape Town getting affected by this or not, just can't game at all anymore, which I use this line for the most part, and also contacting my tutor over Skype(at least that works fine.

Then your wife asked you who Karmen is, and you told her no, karma... And that's when the fight started.

Perhaps things will calm down with an email or website notice for customers, confirming issues that are being worked on and a notice will be sent when everything is back to normal.

Yup. Same issues for the 14th night in a row. Switched to my MWeb account and get full speed so it's obliviously not Telkom. Not sure what I am actually paying for here?
