Vox Telecom Fatpipe

Quick question with the new midnight data, in my customer portal my data used is showing all data, including the after hours, should it be doing this or should the midnight data not show up, because currently it looks like all data counts towards my cap?

Hi guys,

I've verified on the back end systems that the usage is allocated correctly. The problem here is the dashboards aren't updated to display correctly, which I believe I mentioned in one of my initial posts.

Anyhow, it's one thing to hear me say it, and I thought I'd embrace a bit more transparency and show you some back end information to put your minds at ease:

We categorize traffic, here's a list of categories which relate to the image which I'll link below:

7 Social Media - Zero Rated
9 Email - Zero Rated
11 Video - Zero Rated
21 Peer to Peer - Zero Rated
22 Bulk Transfers and Network Storage - Zero Rated
23 Usage that doesn't match any other category - Zero Rated

Here is a sneak peak under our hood at our usage parsing system where billing pulls details from:

You will see the categories on the left and the usage on the right. You will also see the SQL query performed to pull said data. I'm not explaining what SQL is!

I hope this puts everyone at ease, if not, ask, but not about SQL.

Regards,
Chris

sorry I'm sure this has been asked already, but has your website been updated to reflect the new deals?

I'm still seeing R249 for 100GB fatpipe.

ah I see. thanks

Before I stick my neck out and get hammered, I read somewhere that the 100GB fatpipe now allows 2 concurrent connections, where before it was 1?

The Fatpipe suite of products, not just the 100GB allow for 2 connections, as does the Uncapped product as well.

I cancelled my AfriHost accounts 2 days ago and moved full-time to VOX, they didn't even keep my accounts live till the 30th, they were so annoyed they closed the accounts immediately and revoked my Client Zone access :)

Is this out of the norm of what they normally do?

What kind of cancellation reason did you give? I have to ask!

@Chris, love the extra info :). Thank You.

I want to see a thread about how you had come to be a Solution Architect and landed up in South Africa :o. Best thing to happen to Vox and their customers.

Wish WA would do the same.

Also canceled with them yesterday and signed up with VOX.

Reason given to: "Got a much better deal at VOX"

It is normally left live till the last day of the month, in my case I had already suspended the main account but was still using the POC account and the one Gig account that was meant to be for life. The reason I gave was:

"I will try again after the POC becomes live but I can no longer afford to be paying for 3 different ISP's.
Mobile data can stay here but ADSL is now on VOX Fatpipe 150Gb with roll over as well as uncapped midnight to 6am and is still cheaper than Afrihost 50GB"

That's quite a story in itself.

I'll give you a quick story version:

I'm American, been in the ISP industry for 20 years, arrived in SA after DOTCOM crashed, Vox was a client, the development house I was with shut down and Vox invited me over for coffee.

I've been with Vox for 5 years now, and have loved every moment.

That's incredible. I've seen a few posts by AfriMan and felt bad for him/her/them. The last one I read about how P2P or YouTube wasn't "working" it took every ounce of my soul not to reply...

and good on you for not. Other ISP members or mods should stay out of the competition threads.

I on the other hand, can go flame AH all I want

Quite sure Chris doesn't mind. We have a good relationship with Vox over here...:)
