I got billed for excess usage on my g4g on my January invoice. Got it reversed though. I've been fat pipe since early December. It did make me question my previous excess usage charges though.

That's why I sounded that warning weeks ago.

To be fair, I don't pick up anything in your previous posts (below) that indicate "excess usage on my g4g". They were cryptic certainly in so far as G-4-G is concerned, which certainly didn't help me out at the time .. or anyone else who might've been questioning Vox about the issue, without posting publicly on this forum (like "roligov" seems to have been doing).

Anyway, I'm glad more has come out now about it, as my case definitely wasn't isolated, as they led me to believe it was, at the time.

all I can say is check your invoices people.

My incorrect billing was sorted by your support. I got billed for a service I don't have anymore.

I PM'd Voxxy directly, I also phoned their support (who don't comprehend usage has to correlate with an accompanying session). Basically I switched to my other Vox DSL account at 5:50am (my PPPOE logs show this and so does the Vox session page), before Bolt-On usage ended, then I started getting emails about usage on my G4G account from 7am onwards. Apparently I "used" 1GB between 7am and 8am yet I was not even connected to my account and there was no active session for that period, their session logs proved that. At 8:30am I switched back to my Bolt-On to see if I was indeed capped, I was. Their session logs had my connection at 8:30am.

So some how their system recorded me "using" 1GB without an active session.

There is a bug in there system or something but there is definitely an issue. I don't care for the 1GB, I would happily have paid for it, just I want to know what caused it and what is preventing this from happening more often?

Good to read about the detail, now, which is very similar to my scenario. In fact, I can add that I think it was on the 10th Feb., when their support was on the phone to me, I was also not connected to Vox at the time, but was refreshing my profile & my usage was increasing (live) each time I refreshed the page.

You write that you weren't concerned with being charged for the (extra) 1GB, and I wasn't at the time, but now feel that we shouldn't need to even ask them to reverse these extra MB's or GB's especially if they know it's not legitimate usage for us, but is their system at fault.

I have been told that they will specifically check for this happening around the 8th - 10th of March again. If it does, those that are affected must be insistent that this usage is reversed so we are not unnecessarily capped on Gig-4-Gig (which in turn affects being able to use products like Bolt-on).

R15 for an extra GB won't hurt me either, but this is a matter of principle, and the 2 people from Vox I've dealt with - one on this forum - have as it now turns out, not been candid about what was really going on. As indicated last night, they've essentially wasted my time (and yours & akescpt's, at least,) for no good reason.

All,

Understand this may not be the appropriate forum, but have been experiencing issues with my fibre line. Extremely slow downloads and international speeds. Below is a couple of tracerts I have run. Does this mean there is an issue with my line (Vumatel) or with Vox? I have reached out to Vox, but still haven't had anyone revert with a solution?

Thanks.

Any update on the Vox streaming issues? Running on my TI backup account and all is good. But my cap will run out very soon.

What issues are experiencing?

Come on guys, wasn't our 100gb subscriptions upgraded to 150gb or something free of charge a while ago?

The terms can be interpreted that it won't increase to the standard rates. I don't think it's ungentlemanly to increase the discounted package by the same percentage as the normal package.

I am a bit unhappy with the fat pipe performance though, especially this past Saturday. Even my cheapo 2mb uncapped Incredible connection account performed better on my 4mb line for gaming. Local pings seemed fine though. One of these days I'll go through the effort of getting traces...

Hi, I signed up with Vox early today with high hopes to have Internet tonight, since I received my username and password via email after opting to pay with Credit Card. I get home now and It doesn't connect with the provided username and password. I call tech support and they can't help because it's "account related" and marked suspended. Great start. Quit while I'm ahead and pay the premium for Crystal service?

I'm experiencing the same issue virtually every night trying to stream especially at those hours (~ 1am - 3am) youtube practically stalls to a halt. Overall my Vox fat pipe experience is nothing like it was some months ago - in fact the account is now quite comparable to most shaped offerings out there at the moment, whereas before VOX would stand out from the crowd. Eagerly awaiting your feedback on this

Something seriously wrong atm, steaming shot, nntp shot, browsing slow.

What's going on Vox? - JHB Area.

Can you guys send photos on WhatsApp and download from the Play store?

That's very odd.

I wonder it can differ from user to user? There are people in the thread I created with the exact same issues regarding Whatsapp, videos etc
