W@P's Solar System

Will your battery discharge be sufficient though?

Most of my trips have been because my 9.6 kWh bank can only discharge at 4.8 kW (0.5C). Not an issue when there's power, but when there's load shedding or an outage there's a risk...
It's more for during the day, heating geyser, oven and all my other base loads. Just want to be done with that headache, when there is load shedding it will be a different story, we turn off all none essential load anyways.

Right, so yesterday with our LS slot of 05:00-07:00 my father's system shut down completely. The battery was at the set 20% before LS kicked in and once the power went out the inverter died. Bad planning from our side to not have let the grid charge the batteries from 01:00-05:00.

Now after LS ended the PV did not charge the batteries or provide load for the whole day. Fsck knows what's going on with this inverter. Every day it's a new issue.

Shut Down: 20%
Low Bat: 20%
Restart: 50%

That's what the battery settings were at. I then changed them in the afternoon to 10% for all three. And selected the grid charge time slot to charge them from the grid as well to boost them before our next LS slot. They started charging from PV and from the grid after the above was done.

I have requested an FW update, and you all know I had kak with MY FW update. So here's to hoping that sorts out the issues.

I cannot understand whats going on with the fscking thing as all the settings are exactly the same as mine.

My battery settings is

Shutdown 15%
Low bat 20%
Restart 35%

Not sure if that will help

Your restart is too high, the inverter will only restart at 50%. You also don't want it to be the same as shutdown.

If shutdown is now 10%, make alarm something like 15% and restart 20%...

WIll have a look thanks.

Such nice lines.

Isn't the restart setting only supposed to be for when the inverter AC part restarts and supplies AC loads? So it should still have been using PV to charge the batteries up to 50% with loads off (which it didn't do)?

I'm not disagreeing that the restart is too high, I just don't think, from my understanding of the restart setting, that it will have any effect on this particular problem.

The inverter will restart (turn on again) when the battery is 50% charged - after the battery has been run down to the shutdown value. SO you will have no loads on inverter until that 50% is reached

Does this look right to you? I woke up to see my SOC at 20%. Jumped from 46% to 20% in 15min with nothing but the base load.

I checked the batteries charge status lights. The master battery had no lights on at the cahrging status while the second battery had one light on.
Don't tell me the my hubble bubble has burst.
Also arent those green and light blue lines on the graph supposed to stay together?

Now i see that upon recharging this morning it jumped from 71% to 100% SOC in 10 minutes.
WTF is going on here.

Not sure if you have the issues from the Hubble thread but this looks familiar...

So my Hubble having the same issue, it’s the 1 battery. It shot down to from 67 to 17% today after putting the geyser on for like 30 min, past the schedule which was 20%. And I noticed the 1 battery drained completely. Then it recharged very quickly. I even reset the battery.

Argh Fsck me sideways and never call me again. I thought mine were not part of that bad batch of batteries.
