WAR - Which servers?

yumyum Im drooling here. They delivered my copy at work today. Can't wait to get home and install this baby :D

So i wouldn't say it's about people wanting to rebel or "being bad", it's plain and simple : Destruction's classes are slick and looks awesome. The Chaos Chosen [the tank class] looks awesome in full armor [Death Knight look] and i don't see any "Style" on the Order Side coming close.
My old guilds motto was one of neutrallity, Which of course is harder to do in games today. So we always pick the underdogs, We did the same with WoW and right now, I think that Order is the underdog (The loading times for Destruction prove that)

I just found it funny as well, when I went to pick up my copy of WAR, there were 3 other "kids" waiting inline to pick up theirs. I asked them who they were playing and they said "Oh destruction of course.. we all want to be evil" I smiled and told them that I would hopefully see them on the battlefield then.. but inside I crying with laughter.

I personally think destruction are boring and more cookie cutter than order. They are your typical everyday "bad guy" But you can compare players on both sides to wow, or any other RPG fantasy game for that matter. Considering though that Warhammer was created in 1987, and Warcraft in 1994... I think that If we compare any side as to who copied who with which "cookie" class, it would be blizzard that did the copying.

Black orc = Orc Warrior
Shaman = Shaman (the didn't even bother to change the name???)
Squig Herder = Dwarf Hunter
Zealot = Undead priest
Magus = Mage from either side
Etc...
I can go on, but you can do the same thing with the Order side

I guess its all about personal opionin though, If we all liked the same side, what would the point of playing be at all if there was nobody to fight against. This though will turn into the same feeble discussion as with WoW, Order think all the kids are on Destruction, and vice versa.

Well i saw these Warhammer mags with action figures in when warcraft2 was still new.

Busy patching atm, really wish I had a faster internet connection. So who's playing Order then and which server? I'm keen to play Dwarfs.

Am I right in saying that Core servers are the ones where you can return to the lower level areas without being transmogrified into a chicken until you actually attack someone?

On Core servers you will turn into a chicken. I'm not sure "when" you turn into a chicken, but it looks like it's only applicable in RvR zones. I think the "hardcore" PvP servers is the "RvR" ones, not sure if the chicken rule is different there.

Core means you can only PvP in the RvR zones, the questing zones you can only attack players if both of you turn on your RvR flag. So far i like this, because i can only imagine how frustrating it can be if you're trying to do a Public Quest and here comes a bunch of gankers come by and kill you and your group <-- this would be similar to getting ganked while you're trying to kill say some boss in Kara i.e. Prince..(Public Quests always end up spawning a boss + elites etc.)

In short, take a zone like STV [gankers paradise] in WoW, on Core servers you can all happily quest together [Order/Destro] , however they usually plonk the RvR zone right in the middle of the zone [it's not an instance]. It's similar to the Arena there in STV [just much bigger]. As you walk in you gain the RvR flag.

Main diff is, the most lucrative activity in terms of XP,Gear and other types of experiences [Renown/Influence] is to be in the RvR zones and/or in a Scenario. Questing and Grinding does not seem to be as fun to do, but if you do it then you usually don't want to be ganked.

OK, thanks for clearing that up. Core sounds good, played PvP in WoW which was great, but I can definitely see the issue with the Public Quests. Will prob role Core.

It can happen out of RVR.

I went back to a lower tier PQ zone to try get "lower end" gear for talismen crafting and halfway through I was suddenly turned into a chicken.. It wasn't fun :o

Hiya! I was just wondering if someone can please confirm this for me.

I purchased the Pre-Order of Warhammer from BT Games. I've spoken to a few ppl in game, who've said that if you've ordered the Pre-Order from BT Games, you should have gotten some free "thing" to unlock in game.

Can someone please confirm this for me?

Thanks!

You will find all your free items in your MAILbox in the game.

If you want to be sure, check the registration mail you received from the war-europe site, they told me in that mail that i received specific items with the key.

In fact your registration email should say "pre order license" as well.

My registration email looks like this:

ACTIVATED: Pre-Order Standard Edition exclusive items
ACTIVATED: Rittenbach camp

and
ACTIVATED: Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning
ACTIVATED: 1 month - WAR

I actually got an epic ring as well, not sure if it's part the head start of the pre-order standard edition above. I did have all my keys before launch , even though i didn't pre-order...but i assume the keys i got was "pre-order" keys because i activated them before launch.

However i didn't buy my key from BTGames, i bought it online and it was a whole lot more expensive , primarily because i had to pay in EUROs.

Is it just me or does everyone have to accept the EULA every time? Its annoying, but I kinda forgive em cause the game is fun.

Awesome! Thank you VERY much for the info. I've just saddly found out that BT stocks the regular version. What I was after & aiming for is the elusive Collectors Edition - currently only availble in Greece, Helsinki & a few other countries through the www.war-europe.com site.

I really wish BT had stocked it & they hadnt put it out on limited quantities. Seems like SA always gets the shaft. Wish for once companies would recognise SA as a gaming community. :(

Not just you bud. I've gotten use to it, although scrolling down the EULA is a bit annoying. Loving the game though.

Has anyone else had problems authenticating right after install to update the game? I have emailed support, reinstalled, changed my profile password and still nothing, cant even get into the game. Would appreciate any suggestions.

This game is awesome!!

Went order just to be different from anybody else, already have 2 chars one on level 11(engineer) and other level 7(white lion), I find the engineer much more entertaining and different.

PvP, exciting and fun already have 67 pvp kills rank 9.

Playing on Ellyrion, open rvr server, we are about 8 saffers playing together helping each other to level. IGN-Brakkenjan

Mods please give WARHAMMER its own forum;)

Wisper in game we need 6 people to start guild.
Well be on weekdays 19:00-22:00 and weekends alot.

The sooner you get your guild up the better. You might not know yet, but you -level- your guild too. i.e. To get a Guild Vault, your guild need to be lvl 4. To level your guild people need to level and do stuff, everyone contribute points towards the guild xp.

Follow the thread, alot of people had similar issues but it's usually related to Firewall,Password being incorrect or simply using the wrong client [US vs EU] .

The guild lvl thing souds cool :)

Oh and each level you get something for the guild. There's 40 levels, and it takes 3-4 active players to get to lvl 15 each to lvl your guild to 3. Lvl 3 you get a tax system and a donation system for the guild [so you can automatically tax your members] etc etc. Eventually you get -skills- that applies in PvP/RvR [almost like having a guild-spec] , which can be used by the members.

Umm any Destro guys playing on a Open RvR server?

If you're Destro & playing on:

Dragonback Mountains
Eltharion
Finuval Plain
Mount Silverspear
Sea of Dreams
World's Edge Mountains

PLEASE LET ME KNOW! :D
