Yeah, getting a max of 30kB/s on a 4Mbps line here myself...
Something broke somewhere?
P.S. This is hardly an epic download -.-' Maybe 60MB?

When the open beta is over and it's acceptable levels I will think about it again.
Not to salt the wounds or being a prick, but I would like to make one observation here if I may:
One would think that in waiting so long to bring uncapped they would have done their homework, or at least be better prepared. Quality of network over price was one time too many punted as well as the pie analogy. Seems that the chicken pie has come home to roost...
And the account is flying again. I guess the service is simply oversubscribed atm, when everyone's at work it's perfect.
I'm interested what people are experiancing round about 1 am on a weekday
Hi all,
Been reviewing a lot of things on our end, so been running between the Networking guys, Product Teams and the big boys.
Long story short, we provisioned for x amount of IPC capacity for our Home Uncapped launch. The sign-ups and upgrades where far from what we expected, even on extreme circumstances. Our network isn't maxing out by no means, but is very full - causing a general slow down.
The capacity upgrade that was planned for Monday fell through because of issues on Telkom's end. We've been told that the capacity is going to be allocated between 10pm tonight and 7am tomorrow. Once it's been allocated, we'll need to "pass this through" our systems - so a slight drop in traffic might be experienced at around 7am tomorrow morning.
Our CEO is busy with our Marketing guys to draft a letter to all our Uncapped customers, explaining what's happening in a bit more detail. I'll post that up as soon as a copy lands in my inbox![]()
So Jeff, what about potential clients like me, this seems that there is no way to join this; which will just add more strain to an already near-max-with-upgrade network. I was really looking at this account, followed since the start of this thread; but I dont see me joining in January atm.
I wanted from this account
1) Downloads, not 1000s of GBs but most at the 12-6 time and also not 100s there either
2) Normal browsing, and semi-downloading in normal times within the limits
3) Low ping gaming, including international - Heroes of Newerth / Guild Wars / Starcraft 2
Paging through the last 5+ pages I dont see any positives. I am not hating, I was someone that would JOIN, but Im not joining from crap to more crap. I am however going to remain here, and if positiveness gets through the rest of the month, I will reconsider.

Hi CVRChameleon,
Not too sure what the hesitation is? By no means will our network run like this all the time, my post above was to mention that our already very high provision of capacity was undermined by the huge amount of sign ups. Please have a read through my post for when the new capacity is coming in, we've got 2 dates scheduled already.
A lot of positive feedback has been seen, both on these forums as well as other online platforms that we monitor - although to admit the capacity could have come online a little sooner. Saying that though, it's not really something that's in our hands :/
Everything that you've listed in your post, we can provide. It's unfortunate that our capacity upgrades have been delayed - but it's not something to base our products off![]()
Jeff thanks for the reply![]()
5+ Pages of comments make me hesitate with what is being supplied by WA for this account. I am frustrated with previous ISPs service, and to move to something like what has happened on the last few pages (most people having problems with speeds, ping times etc).... is useless / pointless. I so want this to work, but uncapped accounts have all been bad.. getting another frustrating service experience may just make me commit suicide!
Seriously, I would have joined start of this month, but because of other ISPs I am only available for January. I want an ISP I can recommend to people, atm I have none. Hope your upgrade improves your clients experience! I will still keep watching this topic, and hope to read more positives.
