Lol, ok bad wording for it. Point is service is working, steam downloads from last night was flying, no issues with xlive, no issue with itunes. Heck even VPN to my work servers in RSA and AUS was perfect. Dare I say, even the tube worked. I did however with some of that usage do torrents, no point in denying it.
The thing is if you guys don't step up and really complain where it matters, don't be mad when you get another pat on the back. As I've said it took 1x mybb article with mweb and they really upped their game.

I still maintain waiting until the 15th before getting panties in a knot. They've acknowledged the problems and have been dealing with it; the biggest solution being scheduled for the 15th.

The problem is that general internet in South Africa makes faith so difficult, I'm trying my best with WA but even contemplating the 15th not fixing things...
Haha I've hit the 6hr threshold and the download speed is the same as in the office hours. I hardly see any difference.
I'm getting +-55KB/s now on rapidshare. While today in office hours got +-60KB/s. 60KB/s was while not hitting the threshold.
Yesterday I got 105KB/s not throttled.
Opening tickets just gets me. Sincere apologies and please be patient for the 15th.
Seems like the 15th is the magical day when everything is gonna happen. Lets pray and hope.

Well, uncapped in ZA is pretty much haphazard and unreliable one way or the other. WA's product is decent if all you intend to really do is browse but when it comes to web 2.0 stuff and webcamming... I'm pretty disappointed. My old IS account with OpenWeb Gold performed vastly better than this one and without the throttling. Latency was just terrible and Steam would never download faster than maybe 75kB/s during the day. But it worked.
Right now this account is "okay" and I'll probably stick around in January purely because I love WA's user control panel and billing system. But worth R599? No way.

Why are the in threshold people experiancing this problem at all, surely thats the whole point of the threshold ?
In addition if anyone gets put on equal footing after midnight if capacity's a problem the in threshold people will basically just get kicked down the ladder a notch, surely their priority should stay higher if you enter the 6 hour downloadplus hour to avoid their services getting interrupted by out of threshold people ?

Every ISP has had teething problems when they released new products so calm down and give it some time. If you don't like the service then move to another ISP instead of crying on every forum available.
Personally I have used 129Gb this month. I'm not sure about my download speeds because most of my downloads are scheduled for 12-6 but my WoW latency on 4 machines are always around 200ms so I am a happy camper.

Sure when they are the first to the launch it, WA has waited a year or more on this.
I would have thought that they've gone the proactive and not reactive route. Nothing stopped them from only taking in say 50 clients to get the ball rolling and then the next month 150 clients and so on, but no we'd rather go with we know we have only '25 slots' of uncapped and have everyone signup, if **** hits the fan we just get more bandwidth with telkom.
It's tiresome to see yet another ISP abused their clients for their testing which they clearly have not done. As there was not enough bandwith provisioned nor is the shaper working properly. This from the one isp that continuously verbally abused other isps with their so called better/next generation network saying this is why they are more expensive and why they didn't didn't offer uncapped in the beginning when mweb and rest of the pack did.
I didn't see openweb's shaper fall over like this nor did mweb. Sure mweb had shaper issues in london, but at least most of the time it work over asking their clients more than half a grand, but failing to deliver. Only other isp to match this uncalled for behavior was afrihost with their shaping failings. I mean seriously they also abused their clients for testing, their shaper also clearly failed as it shaped the capped clients too.
Teething problems has become the excuse for not properly testing your product, period. Once again nothing stopped them to have gone the graceful route of.... wait for it... using 20 odd clients in a real testing before launch. Then they would have seen **** we have shaping issues, **** we have capacity issues. They could have fixed that and those people who had lost money in good faith would have not, but no we'd rather do it the proudly south african way of waiting for the **** to hit the fan and then do something, right

I've just seen reports of "I'm out of my threshold and getting X Y Z speeds" which have been perfectly acceptable but at the same time the in threshold performance sucking so to me I dont see the whole threshold thing working how it should.
Thing is that it's not the amount I can download in a month, but that I can download when there is a need to, without having to worry about being throttled. As an example I haven't really downloaded anything since yesterday afternoon, but tomorrow PSN gets some new content or tonight STEAM has a game on special that I want to buy.
Without any worries about what time it is I can go ahead and start downloading those titles, be they 1 gig or 100 and I will get full speed for the duration of that download.
It's that piece of mind that uncapped is supposed to offer. If I'm worrying about how much I'm downloading then I almost might as well be on a capped account.
This is the main issue with a lot of these accounts and I have to say that very few ISP's give one that kind of piece of mind...

You've hit the nail on the head.
I especially like the first part. It's like I said in an earlier post: I'm getting the same average usage as I did before I switched to WebAfrica. But I'm getting that usage SLOWER. It takes an hour to download a video (yes, download, gods forbid I accidentally close the tab and have to start it all over again) when it used to take five minutes and I could stream it completely "live."
I'm not too fussed about the throttling. I figure that if I need to download something big (like a Steam game) *NOW* that I just would. The Download+ thing is nice in theory but in practice it's sort of just a "meh" if the need ever arises sort of thing.

If Webafrica have been prioritising according to ports or IP's (eg wow's list/range) then I could send some more ranges for them to add into their exceptions... If it is not the case then I'm wondering if we are not stuck with a bunch of broken accounts.

So they have a 1000 singups ? I doubt it, yet nothing stopped them from inviting the public to test like any respectful isp would do as they punted themselves with their quality and superior generation of network, which it clearly isn't. I wish people would get over the hurdle of thinking we are all just downloading the internet AKA heavy usage AHA zomg warez MUST be the only to use more then 10GB, fail, really.
