Web Africa's new ADSL pricing revealed

Hi all,

We understand the need for pricing decreases, and if you take a look at our DSL complete offerings, you will actually see that they are the most competitive in the market currently.
Many posts above expected us to meet R40 at least, this we have done.

Here is a look at our per gb rates across all plans excluding standard line cost pricing:

Plan 1:R17 per gb
Plan 2: R32 per gb
Plan 3: R39 per gb
Plan 4: R31 per gb
Plan 5: R32 per gb
Plan 6: R37 per gb

Many other providers do not offer a line and data option, we offer the convenience of a single account as well as highly competitive pricing on our DSL complete.

This is only only phase 1 of 2, operationally we could not get everything done at a single time without the risk of errors occurring.
We plan to innovate and increase value as soon as possible, July.

Contrary to all the complaints above, I welcome your 29% price drop on my unshaped account.
 
Wow, must say that I'm disappointed. With the R200/30GB special I at least thought they would deliver competitive prices.
110GB for R4900? 55GB for R2500? What is the point of these packages when uncapped 4MBs accounts retail for R2500?
 
Kinda sad how you don't save much by buying more bandwidth

Data 1 : 59 a gig (1 gig)
Data 2 : 50 a gig (4 gig)
Data 3 : 49 a gig (6 gigs)
Data 4->7 : 45 a gig (11->55 gigs)
Data 8 : 45 a gig (110 gigs)

That is a good point. Why will some one buy 55GB for the same price as 4MBs uncapped all day account. It just doesn't make sense!!!!!
 
Did you compare this with Telkom Do Plan's? No. Thus, it doesn't make you the most competitive

So you're only willing to provide the "best rate" after tying clients into a lengthy contract? Fail

Why is your dedicated server pricing on bandwidth cheaper than adsl? Surely if you did the math and had competitive pricing on ADLl then you would get the numbers you're looking for?

Not to rain on your parade here, but you don't offer anything better than what is out there already. The idea is to improve on your competition, not to lag behind them.

But yea, good luck with your strategy...
 
DSL complete is a fail as well. You don't even offer a 20Gb package. Not that I would ever consider going through the hassle of moving my line.

AFAIK, there is no contract on the DSL Complete packages. Perhaps they should have just announced those today :)

Hi, thanks for taking the time to reply, but it is very inconvenient to have your line moved away from Telkom at this moment, since us as consumers want to jump to the cheapest ADSL package on demand and not struggle with a sticky adsl line.
I know its most ISPS objective to prevent this, but please don't insult everybody's intelligence with the word "convenience" .
