LOL. I'm guessing WA didn't expect their new pricing to give such a bad reaction. This is what I call publicity FAIL.

Herewith the rules for ADSL ISP's: (directed at Axxesss and Web Africa mostly):

1) Don't mess with your subscribers, they have no loyalty to you
2) Don't mess with your subscribers, they have no loyalty to you

are they even still in business?...i remember they charging when i first wanted internet they wanted to charge me R145 per gig. wich was about 5 or so years ago. I heard the other day they still charge that.?..lol.

Remember guys you need a b-com degree to know how to make these silly prices like the guys in these positions who make them. Only they smart enough to know what price is right...haha the idiots
 
Well why would subscribers have loyalty to people who have no loyalty to them?

In my mind ISPs are currently like banks... we pay them more than we should for a service they provide. Banks don't give a **** about you at all - stay with a bank for 20 years and see how much better their offer of a homeloan really is if you ask for it.

Same thing... No ISP has loyalty to you. They want your money. If you stop providing that you'll soon discover how sweet they are :)
 
Afrihost are running a 2 for 1 special at the moment (Dont think its the first time). R29 = 2GB. Correct me if I am mistaken....
 
sometimes they let you get 2 gigs for the price of one, its totaly random i think, and they provide it if they can, most likey at the end of the month, but i topped up on the 3rd and i got 2 for 1.. so totally random.

no offense to you if you really believe in what you say, but maybe speak to ur CFO about this and ask him 4 questions:

1) Is Afrihost an entity comparable to the national treasury? answer will be NO.
2) So since Afrihost is not the government will their budgets ever be consistently estimated at more than their revenues? answer will be NO.
3) Even if it was below cost they would need to borrow to fund the products, so ask ur CFO if any bank would lend to them with an unsustainable business model? answer will be NO.
4) So last question would be- do you really believe Afrihost is not profiting or at least breaking even? clearly the answer should be NO.

although i concede there is a low probability of me being incorrect with my statements, I forecast the probability of that being VERY low...

AFRIHOST al they way!!!!!!!!!!!
 
lol I just notice that WA will actually be less expensive than Axxess on a 5GB bundle. In other words for R290.00: WA = 6GB and Axxess = 5GB. Looks like Axxess will be needing to step up or they gonna loose out.

I've topped up 3 different times last month and twice so far this month @R14.50 per gig. The special is random but its on allot! I checked earlier today it was on too.

You must give them some sort of commendation, keeping subscribers at bay as they did. This was damage control to the max and making some nice extra cash at the same time. WELL PLAYED

I mean they had to spin something when Afrihost HIT. Network was rolled over last year already and now pricing is only effectively (well not that effectively) reduced in March. They must have made a killing charging (SAIX) rates for blended BW these past few months.

I for one AM one of the idiots who actually decided to wait it out, well now I am doing some damage control of my own.
