Web Africa's new ADSL pricing revealed

I was hoping to get a reply publicly, for the benefit, of, well, the public. I have seen at least 1 WA rep active on a thread not related WA today, so they're definitely around.

I guess if I do not get a response by the end of the day I'll have to enter private communication with them.

You right, I for one would love to hear the response and I think there are a few more

I don't mean to belabour the point, but I'm still waiting on a response to this question: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthr...ing-revealed&p=3622956&viewfull=1#post3622956

Would any Web Africa representative care to educate me?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Na-iem, thanks for the question. We are going to collate all the queries in this thread and create a response thread most likely. Its dreadfully inefficient trying to respond to everyones queries due to the volume of posts and length of the thread.

Thats a good idea, it impossible to find WA replys on this thread, I personally don't want to read through 56 pages of complaints, seems to grow 4 pages a day

56 pages, 826 replies, 37,684 views.

That's gotta hurt... at least... a little.

I'd like to see some stats regarding where the views came from. I've seen links to this thread on Facebook. Interesting how far bad news can travel.

Good day waroop, et al

Do you have any e.t.a for the response thread?

Thanks.

Jeez, alot of response has been made here regarding this...

there has been alot of nastiness and bitching, but it has all been in vein.

Why don't we ask some straight forward questions to get some straight forward answers.

1. Why can't you make the price cheaper?
2. Why is the price so high?

Lets add them all together so we can get some straight forward answers from Wamatt, Krayon, Waroop or any other Webafrica employee...

Just signed up for an Afrihost account; what a painless pleasure. Bye bye WA, thanks for the last 4 years..

Good day Web Africa Representatives

It seems I now have to ask if you have an e.t.a for the e.t.a of the response thread.

Also, can you please tell us in which section this thread is going to be created? (Will it, for example, also be in the "Broadband and IT News Articles" section? If not, where will it be?)

Well the official email with the new pricing from WA was sent out yesterday, or I got it then at least. (Yes you see. I still haven't cancelled.. Just not going to top up anymore, because it doesn't make ANY sense, which is still REALLY REALLY sad, because I do like WA as an ISP)

Nothing is mentioned about pre-paid other than UPGRADING to the new accounts. I also there is a new "upgrade" button on my account manager. Oh the pricing is still all the same. So I think we will have to wait for the July update for any response. At least that's what it looks like is going to happen

I think you misunderstand. I'm not asking what the new pricing for data only packages is going to be.
I want to know how changing a price from R70 to R59 has less risk of introducing errors than changing the price from R70 to, say, R39. See my post here: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthr...ing-revealed&p=3622956&viewfull=1#post3622956

Ja that's funny....it's more risky to drop it from 70 to 59 than 70 to 39....risky for the general ledger LOL

In this market, it more risky not to drop it further, as WebAfrica will learn to their cost.
