I believe it was confirmed to be the Tenda AC8 router.

Nope, Mikrotik just handles MTU, MSS and fragmentation and reordering packets on the FNO and or server provider's network slightly better (the loan unit is also a pretty beefy packet processor). Also saw complaints on other threads. So not router related per se - other than the router not being able to process bad packets as well as the MT.

Still waiting for feedback on exactly what MTU worked best and we'll also be looking at some PCAP results to see where packets are struggling to come through whole. We've seen this before on a specific FNO where a switch seems to try to rebuild packets somewhere between the client and the ISP handover and basically delivers packets out of sequence or fragments the packets - resulting in a not so smooth user experience.

Thank you for the feedback and the quick fixes. I really appreciate it. But there still seems to be a problem with what is being displayed.

On the order page (1. Product) page, it says the monthly fee is R868.70, which when you add vat gives you R999. Correct. However on that same page, it says VAT is R134.51 which is incorrect (it's supposed to be R130.31), and if it were correct, it would add up to R1003.21. But the total due displays as R1031.23.
Then on the next page (settings), it says the subtotal is R896.72 + vat of R134.51 which totals according to that page R999.01 (total matches what I expect to pay each month, but the sum is not correct), and then below that it says R1031.23 due today (why have that word "today" there when it clearly isnt applicable).

The guy who is doing the "fixes" needs to go and do proper maths and not "maths literacy". I hear what you are saying about all this that will probably be sorted by your accounting team, but I dont feel comfortable digitally agreeing to prices I know to be wrong. Can somebody with Grade 6 maths at least not just sort it out? I dont mean to nitpick, but you charge more than your competitors. These types of glaring problems should not be there to start with, or am I expecting too much?

I cannot place an order online with details I know to be incorrect. This is where Mind The Speed with their useless and incorrect "docusign" lost my potential business.
Checked again this morning and pricing seems to have been sorted out. Thanks for the heads-up though.

Apologies for the delayed response here. Our system is linked to a billing system and assumes you're being activated immediately (some clients are lucky enough to be). So it generates a pro-forma bill based on that assumption. The amount you were correctly quoted yesterday was based on the pro-rata amount for 1 month + 1 day (as you placed your order during a billing cycle (25-1st of the month)). This pro-forma bill is cancelled when we see that your order can't be activated immediately and your order is left in a pending state until you are activated. Once you place an order online (which isn't a binding contract according to CPA and lacks all RICA qualification), our sales team reaches out, confirms your order, sends you the paperwork required and confirms whether an install is required. Those Is and Ts are the paperwork you are committing to. Unfortunately, there are aspects which need to be manual to be compliant.

Morning! Yes - I'm hoping everything is finalised during September with FF and MFN. Things have moved slower this end than I'd hoped.
Would like to see your pricing on the FF network and what routers do you supply for 100mb lines

Could definitely be the issue, but the servers where absolute garbage the last week it is starting to get better now so lets up for the best

WebSquad provided a free to use router to me, the Tenda AC8. Used it for a few hours and put it back in the box. A True POS. While wired in it caused random packet drops and disconnects plus it has terrible wifi range even when tweaked optimally.

I'm using my LTE router in WAN ethernet mode for now.

Hopefully they can provide a different router to use.

Agreed those Tenda routers also gave me a lot of PooP so my current isp switched me over the the Huawei WS (something) an boy o boy what a router in now for about 2 months. it resolved a few issues

1. Packet loss gone
2. 1GB Port
3. Easy select Wifi channel switch and interference check
4. Dual Core CPU

And i love it

If they want to send me a Tenda i will pass been there done that no thank you

Thanks, I might just jump ship to you guys.

i'd do that. even with the kind of configuration, learning curve, and tweaking that all this seems to necessitate, their overall delivery of service is miles ahead of most organizations. while i have issues here and there, stepping back from those to and taking stock, the overall quality and reliability of my current experience is exponentially better than my previous two providers.

I can confirm that at 1400 MTU on my MT router I've had a better experience so far

@websquadza lagging / getting packet loss HEAVILY in Apex today and can't figure out why. Caught one server IP and MTR shows this:

Looks like losses here at least 3 hops away. Looks like our upstream hands over to their upstream (telia), who hand over to Godaddy who then hand over to Host Europe (the server host). Issue seems to be on the last two handovers (judging by the loss, looks like port congestion). When did Apex move away from AWS and Google Cloud?

London and Amsterdam are hosted separately then Frankfurt is AWS and Belgium is Google. The above MTR I believe is not to a server it's one of the few IPs that pop up.

Any issues reported for Openserve in the South (PE)?

90ms from 2nd hop
