I think they referring to AWS path since from the very limited time i get to game (thanks Eskom) their route has been down for about 2 weeks.
Yeah definitely the AWS path- and getting anything from their NOC is near impossible.

This Middle eastern AWS route has been down since the beginning of last month (probably longer), I also used to get ~125ms with my current ISP then all of a sudden it went to 227ms in valorant and it's been like that since.

There was/is (I’m struggling to find updates) a break between Egypt and ME. Looking at the latency here- it seems that AWS are using a L2 overlay here - that first hop out of S.A doesn’t tell us much about how they’re getting there.

Trace complete.

I'm pretty sure it is the AWS, cause this is a middle eastern server which I know used to have a good ping of around 125ms, now sitting at 230+, if you need any more information I'm happy to provide.

Thank you :)
Generally once a path is restored, AWS soaks it for a while before bringing it back up.

Will keep looking for updates on the break

Dropped for me as well. Bryanston Vuma Aerial.

What was the RFO?
Thanks for your patience here.

A software bug was found to exist that would cause our BNG's kernel to become unstable. Around 10:08am on Sunday, this bug took hold of the device and resulted in a kernel instability. Not all services were downed however, which led to PPP requests failing to complete authentication. Our team resolved the issue by shutting interfaces on the affected BNG - all affected services automatically moved over to an alternate device and restored rapidly.

The software bug has been resolved by a later software update for the device. We are testing the device with the updated software and will reintroduce it to the stack once we deem it to be stable and reliable. We apologise for the inconvenience caused.

PS, I hope those last 40 mins of Stranger Things was great!

Vumatel Upgrade Update: Clients with Zhone/Dasan ONUs in JHB (Formerly Fibrehoods Network) - Vumatel are experiencing issues with the upload speed configurations on the new profiles. Their dev team are working on this. For now, you may not have the doubled up upload speeds available.
