WebAfrica Capped ADSL

If you got the same slowdown on a paid server aswell, then I have to blame WA.

I'll say it again, all "value" IS backed capped accounts that terminate through CT (i.e.. PE, Garden Route as well) are being shaped aggressively into the ground at present.

On this forum and the Crystal Web forum, ample evidence has been provided of this, and magically when switching to other non IS based capped accounts the problems disappear, i.e. NNTP running at full speed, youtube maxing your line out.

It's disgraceful.

The ISP's are hiding behind vague T&C's, and like everything else in this country, the consumer is out of luck.

This is when I'm grateful I live in Durban :p

The response I got from WA, so they are still having congestion issues.

"Some of our customers may experience slow ADSL speeds owing to congestion being experienced by our upstream provider. Webafrica is in contact with our provider and is monitoring the situation. We apologise to any customers who might experience speeds slower than what they are used to and we will endeavour to get back to normal as soon as possible."

"I followed this up with our Network Engineers, they believe the issue should be resolved within the next few days. "

Hi all,

I have a pending internet service that will only kick in on 01-07-15, but my current ISP is having issues and would like to activate now. Is there a way in their Customer Zone to do so or do one need to create a new service? I also guess one will be charged a portion for activating earlier?

Some of my my service providers may experience payment shaping. This is as a result of issues with my spending patterns. I am working on a plan with the bank and a 12 step program to monitor and improve the situation going forward. I sincerely apologise if you are one of the providers receiving only a fraction of what I normally pay you every month. I will endeavour to ensure you will soon again be receiving the payment due to you.

Brilliance.

Give this man a bells. Or a fraction thereof until the full whisky stream comes on tap.

So we're thinking of moving our Afrihost Capped to Webafrica Capped ... how's things in WA land nowadays?

I'm having slow throughput in the Western Cape. Anyone else experiencing the same or is it just me?

I have only used 12 of my 40 gigs for the month, yet being throttled to the ground atm. I have paid for those gigs, why cant I use them.

Hi Convex,

Your account is not throttled. We don't throttle Capped accounts, the service is shaped according to bandwidth priority profiles and protocols.
