WebAfrica Capped ADSL

A bit annoyed , I signed up for WebAfrica on the 30th of June thinking they would charge me from 30th till 30th etc.

I see I was charged R149 on the 30th and the next day another R149.

Checked my usage history for June and I hadn't connected yet.

I didn't read any TOS as a friend told me id be fine and and needed isp asap as adsl line had just been installed.

Can webafrica rep help me here as I didn't use data in June, I never thought payment would go through so quickly as it was debit order.

Is it just me or is P2P shaped to the ground on your Home Capped accounts during business hours? Other than that, everything works quite well.

If you consider my current 5 KB/sec "shaped to the ground" then yes, the account is shaped to the ground :)

Hi,

Our Capped services don't work on pro-rata because you get the full data when you sign up, regardless, when you sign up. I've motivated for a credit note with our Billing team and it has been approved, therefore you'll see your account is credited with R149.00

Excellent, thanks for the understanding.

Hi

We're not aware of any issues within Cape Town. What issues are you experiencing and please PM me your account details so I can assist?

Wow, support is really top notch lately. Its only been 15 days and WA still hasn't figured out whats wrong with my account. GG

Hi,

Really sorry to hear our guys didn't resolve your issue. I see that they were trying to contact you at the wrong times, so I've asked them to try to contact you between 18:00 to 20:00 - as you requested.

WebAfrica Helper - do you perhaps know whether Windows Update is shaped during business hours on home capped?

So what exactly isn't shaped?

Loading a webpage is also a download. Do you shape http/https then?

Browsing, Voice over IP, Secure web (HTTPS) and Security (VPN) have high priority than other protocols.
