So WA throughput on capped has been deteriorating a lot the last few months. Shaping has gotten worse but more importantly, European content access has become degraded so much so, that the product is no longer what it was. Which capped accounts are worth a look, Crystal/Vox?
 
I have to say my first couple of days on WA uncapped was not great at all. Not bad but I do expect a capped account to perform better. The best speedtest I got was 1.42.

What is your line speed?
 
Last night's DL+ speeds on a 20MB line capable of 2.3Mb/sec. Speeds are for downloading from WA/IS news servers:

Minimum speed: 466 KB/s (average for file)
Maximum speed: 916 KB/s (average for file)

Astra via WA: downloads are still shaped

Against Afrihost: full 2.3MB/sec

BTW this is in the nature of a reminder to WA Helper, who is supposed going to investigate ...

Hi all,

I stream Supersport often whilst working on my PC. I have recently joined WA again and want to check with others if they have issues getting the streams to run in HD. I have no probs with Youtube it streams in 720p and 1080 with no issues, but the streaming seems to be iffy. I'm not sure if this a peering issue of maybe a DNS one.

Is this a normal issue with WA with Supersport and whats the best DNS to use on WA?

I'm on a Business uncapped on a 40Mbps line.

IMO, I highly doubt that a 40mb capable line will suffer from exchange congestion, therefore, my advise to you is to blame your ISP, don't give them anymore money, esp the exorbitant amount you're paying and rather downgrade, and try someone else, for eg: Vox 100GB rollover special :)

Where do you see he has a 40Mbps line?

:P I must say ever since I got this 40Mbps I get shafted without knowing because even if my line runs on less than 50% performance I still won't notice a thing.

Which is why I don't like WA's "priority" system, rather go with another IS reseller that has (to quote Janitor) a different pizza topping ;)
