Are these accounts charged pro-rate if activated immediately, or it is full price no matter what?

Nope if you activate last day of the month you will be billed full price for a months data that you will need to use before the end of the day

wow. Is an uncapped 2MB account just absolutely useless during the day?

I work from home, and this reminds me of the good old days of 56k. I can't even establish a reliable connection using google. I'm not doing anything demanding during the day.

Totally awesome performance in the evening yesterday evening - like really good. But the day time performance is almost non-existant?

what is the difference with home capped pro and business capped, I am looking for more speed outside business hours , evening and weekends, is the business account slower outside business hours compared to the home capped pro?
 
The home pro accounts seem old, when I went into my products page the home pro accounts didnt come with the 00:00-06:00GB extra bandwidth, on the webafrica site they are listed under the same priority as business capped. For a quick reference it may help. I summarised the capped vs uncapped from their site http://support.webafrica.co.za/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/669/0/bandwidth-priority-profiles

The capped accounts are basically one level up, so home capped = business uncapped quality. Business capped = business pro quality, business capped pro one level above business uncapped pro.

The 1GB home capped accounts are free, you may want to give one a try. I tested it against my Afrihost Business Uncapped today with just downloading a 50MB file from my overseas ftp at 1pm, 180KB/s Afrihost, 420KB/s Home Capped. So on my 4mbit line its not possible to actually have the business faster than home since at lest for 4mbit my line was maxed.

The simple...
Home Capped = Titanium
Business Capped = Gold
Business Capped Pro = Platinum

Home Uncapped = Silver
Business Uncapped = Titanium
Business Pro Uncapped = Gold
No Titanium Uncapped Package

Home capped will be fine. I actually cannot figure out what the differences between the two are besides getting 5 extra mailboxes on the business accounts.

If you're working from home you should get the Business 2meg.
 
Thanks guys, I took the business capped over the home capped pro, because when I bundled with 4meg line was R250 vs R299 when I was checking out on their website.
 
Guys. Can anyone comment on the speed of the capped account during the day and early evening? (I have only a 2mb line)

Downloads maxing out my line and streaming twitch on high works as well.

Our capped accounts are great and performance is just as good. Sign up for our free 2GB account and test things out before you decide to buy :)
 
how quickly do you get shaped on the capped accounts? I have a 10m line and although I would do most of my downloads between 12 and 6 I would sometimes need to download during the day - mostly using NNTP. I don't use torrents.

A few days ago I was able to DL at about.7MB during the day and now I have been running at full capacity on my 10 meg line so have had variable experiences during the day - please note this is a very non-scientific report :)
 
What are realistic speeds I can expect on P2P downloads during the day on a 40mbps home capped 600GB package? I'm keen on taking that package but I'm not feeling too keen on it being shaped at all, nevermind the second lowest priority - "Titanium".
