Weed growers thread

Any of you use cardboard boxes for drying (in GP)?
Thinking about the fancy ones you get for moving clothes (with the rail for hangers).

Have no space in the house, and no clean safe structure for outdoors.

Unfortunately auto's yield very little because of the short growing period, they have their place but not in South Africa where we have a long enough season for a proper grow. Buy real seeds and plant them in the ground and grow enough to last you a year until the next harvest.

For sure, just grow indoors.

Currently growing 2 x Ghost Train Haze clones. The one is looking perky and happy, the other I dont think will root. Will have to source another.

Just clone one from the happy plant not that difficult to get rooted inside. :)

The limiting factor is those containers of yours. 20 litres will get you that size plant. Not going to argue but that doesn't look like White Widow to me the leaves are too narrow. Otherwise it looks like you're in the mid-stage of flowering.

Wouldn't the second clone also be less mature? Just stunt the first one by topping it until they are at the same level. A clone takes about two weeks to root properly.

The smaller one is halfway, the larger one is one week into flower. It will go into a bigger pot later this week, the smaller one is okay in that size, it's in coco and gets watered/fed twice a day.
 
Hey guys and girls,

I'm looking for some advice. I have a few plants who will soon be ready to transplant from solo cups into 20l pots.

I also want to top these plants (which I have never done before) so I have a couple of questions.

Would you transplant first and then top at the 5th node or top first and then transplant?
Either way, how long would you recommend I wait between these two steps so I don't stress the plant?

For some context, I'm a bit of a noob grower. Growing outdoors, regular seeds, minimal nutrients and non-PHd water (although it sits for 24hrs at a time before I use the water). I've never used any training techniques in the past either.

I am sitting with a similar situation. I have a clone doing very well in a small pot. I need to transplant it soon, and will/want to top it. It's hard to tell with a clone when to top, since the nodes are not reliable due to the maturity of the plant.

I suggest the option that is the least amount of stress for the plant. I will be transplanting asap , give it time to show new growth and then top.

To top it now, and then transplant just feels riskier.

I feel like a top and transplant would be riskier too, it just seems more stressful.

I think I might go the same route as you. Transplant them now and then top in a couple of weeks.

Definitely transplant now then top. On another note, you said its an outdoor plant. Are you giving it enough light at the moment seeing as all outdoor plants without artificial light is in flower now so yours will also go into flower soon.

Awesome, done deal. Transplant this weekend and a couple weeks later I'll consider topping.

I mean it seems to be getting enough light? They haven't started flowering yet and I've seen many others are. But I think mine might still be a bit young? My two biggest are like 3 months old / 10 nodes tall.
My 5 youngest are still in solo cups at the 3rd or 4th node. About a month old if I remember correctly.

If you want to you can just put them under a light in order for them to get 18 hours light. They will then stay in veg until you decide to put them in the dark for 12 hours at a time.

What's the minimum requirements for a light source I can give them? I'd like to keep it cheap and simple for now
