Weight Loss/ Gain thread Dec 2014 - 2015

I am assuming everyone we have is everyone we are going to have?

Rules for updating:

Updates will take place every Monday - please PM me as it can be difficult to update me from the thread
Failure to update for 2 weeks running (unless planned before hand) will be removal from front page

I like the idea of an incentive based challenges - although this as tough as the big guys generally lose weight faster and some people are here to gain weight, any ideas regarding incentives can be discussed here and as with my first thread I am willing to sponsor a little $$$ :)

I mostly track on MFP, but I'm chilled if I skip the tracking. I'm down around 18kgs, quite a few sizes. Would check my weight but the scale battery is dead and I forgot to pick up a new one.

I'm also using MFP - great app

This. All the way this.

I was doing really well last year when I started LCHF, had a cheat day on the friday, Ordered Pizza's, The next morning didn't want the left overs to go to waste, that was the end of my LCHF :(

That's why you make sure you finish the whole pizza that night :p

Yup, have it open on my PC always and use the app if I'm out.

Incentives would require pics, more then just figures.

Then you could rather give the most improved (Be it weight gained, weight lost, etc.) forumite a prize, rather then most weight lost, etc.

We tried this, people didn't want to send their pics - there were like 3 of us that actually posted. Additionally this falls into the trap of "big people lose fat fastest", therefore biggest guy will likely win

Makes it difficult then. Perhaps someone else will have a better idea.

My 2 favourite snacks on LCHF are Macadamia Nut Butter with homemade nut granola (no honey added) or Lindt 85%.

Any of you Low-Carbers indulge in these? How often and how much?

I literally just PM'd Rhandir to ask him what he snacks on/Snacked on :p

I am struggling and for the first week or so wanna snack to make it a bit easier!

So idea's for snacks that won't cost me to much? (Weight wise, not wallet)

I am hoping so - hence I am posing it to thread. Otherwise maybe a standard prize for anyone that reaches their goal - but how does one prove this

That could work. Also is there a time limit on reaching your goal?

Pics I guess?

Perhaps if you wanna be eligible for a "prize" you must submit before pics. Now. Then After pics once goal is reached.

I keep a Lindt 90% on hand but I don't really make time for it. My fiance did use it in this berry-dessert she made last night, which was quite awesome:

When I started keto I was getting Macadamias at a ridiculous price, something like R30/500g. But then I started cutting down on most non-fibre carbs and the nuts got more expensive so I gave them up.

Tough one - I would say Jan 13th -> November 1st

This would give everyone a chance to build on their physiques whether its fat loss, weight gain or body building

Well long time actually makes it worse - a short term goal is easy to reach long term goal not so much - but some people set themselves easier goals than others

Re snacks, my favourite LCHF snacks have always been lindt 85 / 90%, cheese, biltong, or raw almonds / pecans / walnuts.

I've recently started making cheese chips in the microwave, which are pretty good too.
