Weight Loss/ Gain thread Dec 2014 - 2015

Yeah, in that version. Atkins used to promote high protein, low carb.

I'm not aware that my version was significantly different from his "original" version. The whole "liberally" thing kinda indicates eat as much meat/chicken/fish as you want...? Which you said was a distinguisher of the EARLY versions?

I'm honestly not sure what the misunderstanding is here. How is eating an unlimited amount of meat not an indicator of high protein?

Because I tracked my intake, followed the rules and suggestions in the book, and I got 70% of my calories FROM FATS.

Yes, you did. Are you saying that Atkins never advocated a higher percentage of protein?

Agree that there were 2 versions of Atkins (forums disclaimer which book they follow).

Atkins books went on about meat, meat and more meat. LCHF is fat, fat and more fat. There is definitely a much larger focus on fat with LCHF compared to Atkins. Nowhere in Atkins (I read it a decade ago) does he push for fat gorging whereas LCHF does.

Sigh, please take it in context. You can't really overeat on pure fat - most people will get sick

Exactly, i'm not going out of my way to eat fat while banting, Im just not feeling bad or cutting of any fat when I do eat something with fat, also pouring olive oil over most my food.
My personal experience with Banting is cutting out carbs + sugars, and eating an average amount of fat + proteins, its working wonderfully for myself, have not felt this good since my very early twenties :p

Fat is a controversial, emotive thing. Using language like gorging is just feeding the flames.

Pretty much exactly same thing I am doing.

Just a word of warning alcohol tolerance is severely less on this eating plan as well.

Hit the boxing gym this morning for 1x hour of boxing fitness class.

I'm going to suffer ;)

Workout was something *enjoyable* like:

*skip for like 5-10 mins
*ladder + cones for agility + burpees in circuit
*grab a plate and do squats / situps with 10kg plate
*plank and a team plank where you lean on others
*wraps + gloves on and hit bag
*situps / pushups > bag in circuit
*plank > jump over person planking > they move up to a higher plank > crawl under them > repeat 10x then switch
*gloves off > plank again > punch 1 2 while in plank
*situps / pushups
*stretching
*done

AND i'm going tonight again, hahaha going to be broken!
