lactose intolerance is fairly common, as a species we've only been using milk as a food source for about 8000 to 9000 odd years. The issue seems to be mainly related to whether your body can produce lactase which is the enzyme required to break down lactose. Also there may be an issue around what happens to the protein bonds in pasteurised milk (due to the heat treatment) which may influence the ability to digest milk effectively but I'm not sure which way or in what regard it would influence it. I don't take milk in as part of my diet so I haven't researched it much, maybe someone else can give some more informed insight.
Found this Lactose free yoghurt at Woolies, just had some for breakfast, very interesting flavour. A lot sweeter and less bitter than normal plain yoghurt, they explain why on the box.

and the glycaemic carb content is?
prawns
steak and salad
Be careful of the veg sides, they usually add a ton of sugar
Even though the scale's not showing a loss, definitely can notice a loss. Hubby wants to eat like me now. He's also got the skinny fat thing going on.
It's funny how some weeks I don't feel different but the scale shows it. Or the scale shows nothing but I can see/feel the difference.
it's usually pretty simple, have a meat or fish main with a side order of veg, a lot of restaurants will replace the the inevitable all pervasive potato with a veg alternative, avoid the desserts (always the hard part)

if you're talking the butternut/pumpkin options then I agree, a lot of restaurants do creamed spinach or stir fried fresh veg
