Weight loss

Chicken schnitzel. Not great, but not planning any other carbs at all today.

2 big sticks of celery.
Yeh I know splurge, but I was still peckish after just one.

Where's your protein? You need protein and fat with every meal. Starving yourself will just slow your metabolism down.

NONONO.
Apple = fructose = carbs.
Carrot = starch = carbs.

Snack on some biltong ffs

No no no, biltong is like a hanging dead carcass :sick:

How about nuts, I like every type, salted unsalted, anything goes.

Tell you what though, when I plateau which should be in the next week or so I will ask you for a meal plan.

Nuts are good, except for peanuts which are bad.

Lettuce will be your new burger bun

Having this tomorrow.

Had some braai meat. Wors and a piece of Lamb. No chips.
Sipping on green-tea now.

Anyone know of a way to get over the coke addiction? Worked my way down to a bottle every 3 days odd but the cravings are killing me.

Go on, don't leave us hanging... why are peanuts bad? Aflatoxins?

Not 100% sure, but Atkins warns against them. Their GI seems relatively low, but their GL is higher than most nuts. Maybe they're more starchy? I find that peanuts trigger carb craving/blood sugar drops.

I used to buy the small cans of tab to have as a treat now and then. If I have one fizzy cooldrink a month now its a lot. Drink lots of water so that you aren't thirsty and look for an excuse to drink coke. I also buy small boxes of apple juice to keep at work for when everyone is having coke. (And yes, I know fruit juice isn't as good as people think but I select my juice carefully and only have it for a real treat. It was suggested by my dietician anyway and since the gas in fizzy coly is my real problem, the juice works out much better for me)

Water helps and drinking a bucket load of Green tea but the cravings continue. Drink 2 cups of coffee a day with 1 teaspoon of sugar.
Eish..Going to try the Sprite Zero route to wean me off the fizzy addiction. Tab has a horrible after taste.

Thanks :)

Try coke zero...?

lose the sugar, get some canderel yellow.

Setting aside your hatred for carbs - have you guys noticed that if you are actually eating a well balanced diet you don't have these crazy cravings? Beetroot for example is so delicious and sweet that usually if I include it in my diet I don't crave sweets.

Just remember there are millions of diets but it takes a lot of experimenting to find what works for you in the long run.

After-taste :sick: Isn't Canderel even worse then sugar?

???

Coke zero doesn't have the aftertaste that tab has (for me, anyway).

NB, I said canderel YELLOW. That's sucralose based, not aspartame/saccharine etc.

http://www.foodinsight.org/Resources/Detail.aspx?topic=Everything_You_Need_to_Know_About_Sucralose

What is sucralose?

While the process to make sucralose begins with sucrose, or table sugar, the final product is different from sugar. Sucralose is made by replacing three select hydrogen-oxygen groups on the sugar molecule with three chlorine atoms, resulting in an intensely sweet, no-calorie sweetener.
Unlike sugar, the body does not break down sucralose into calories for energy. Yet, both sugar and sucralose activate the same taste buds on your tongue.
Most of the sucralose people consume is not absorbed and passes through the body. The little that is absorbed is excreted in the urine, and doesn’t accumulate in the body.
