Weight loss

I have also been known to lose my appetite in the presence of any meat smell. Especially when it's fish/seafood.

The smell of a f ing dead sheep being cooked is absolutely disgusting. I don't know how anyone can eat that. I also don't like the smell of bacon...

I'm being serious though. Got a few veggies in my family who aren't that way because of health / moral reasons or fashion statements and have been vegetarian their whole lives.

interesting, there must be some underlying cause

sounds like psychological conditioning

Not really. I used to enjoy meat when I was very young. Then I just seemed to go off it and it reached a stage when I would only be able to eat the potatoes and gravy from a curry but not the meat. A few years later even that was out.

I tried eating meat again many years later. This phase lasted about 3 months.

Actually now that I think about it. You could be right OMB.

When I did try it I found that after a few whiskies or glasses of wine the meat tasted really good.

It was only when I was sober that my aversion came out.

And no I am not about to get drunk for a piece of meat! :p

a lot of people don't understand the role psychology plays when it comes to what we eat, and especially the impact of childhood conditioning and belief systems, fortunately there are techniques that can be used to fix it

I can understand that. But my family actively encouraged me to eat meat. Heck they would have preferred it. Easier meal preps :D

nah, encouragement doesn't help much if there is a conditioned belief that has already been created at a subconscious level, if you wanted to change it you'd have to get to the root, anyway, that's a whole other topic...

do you supplement for your vitamin B12 loss?

Oh my word its just a piece of meat... And if the smell of something puts one off then thats more than enough reason not to eat it.

I'm not trying to convert him back to eating meat FFS, I'm just highlighting how certain beliefs originate, there's always a cause

and a piece of meat happens to be a fairly important part of good nutrition
