Weight loss

Yesterday I tried on a shirt that didn't fit anymore, and it looks good again! I think a celebration is in order for tomorrow! I'm craving some brandy tart, and thin crunchy ginger snaps. Maybe some more cupcakes. Hmmmm.

And then your shirt will be too small again AND it will have custard and icing stains on...

Driving insulin SKY HIGH for 6 hours once a week IS part of my program!

Aaaah Shaun! So attentive

I'm curious as to the theory behind this though. And what does the rest of your program involve?

If I remember right you are skinny fat right?

Yep skinny fat... well down to 13.1% now, but I was stalling with what I was doing so I've switched to ketogenic ultra low carb, with a massive weekly insulin spike. The short of the theory is that the massive insulin spike will temporarily stop fat burning, but creates a massive hormonal afterglow that lasts for days afterwards. When you restrict carbs from the diet, leptin levels also begin to fall, and low leptin levels tell fat cells to stay full. The massive insulin spike also serves to reset leptin levels, and has some effect on ghrelin. Also the refilling of glycogen storage is great for my weekly workout.

Where did you find this diet? It seems a bit suspect.

Leptin is primarily an appetite suppressant, not a metabolic regulator. That is insulin. When your body is in ketosis, insulin basically instructs your body to grab its energy from the fat cells stored within it, due to your low glycogen levels.

Spiking your insulin levels temporarily could only be beneficial, to my mind, in increasing muscle growth. But in the same breath, you still need to have a caloric deficit in order to lose weight (and in this instance, body fat).

I lost you at 13.1% :D

What percentage are you aiming for?

Can somebody please PM me a full fat coffee, I'm so sick and tired of rice and noodles, I haven't even been able to organise a yak butter tea :(

Yes that is spot on, good find. Although I should add that I'm using trashy carbs because I only want to spike for 6 hours. I don't want low GI carbs releasing sugar all night. I am also boosting the insulin surge using leucine.

Trashy carbs? How dare you?

:p
