obviously stability, and speed
decent rates.
then Important for me:
Visibility. Spend some time on social networks(other than for just marketing/spamming), have a news section on your web page. Interact with user. run a competition just for fun...

The thing that any ISP should know.
it is very, very easy for me to change provider. You can 10/1 lie to me, and get a month or 2 subscription from me... but in the end, all it takes is 2 phones calls. One to cancel with you, and one to sign up with a different provider.

I wanna ALL ISP to reduce that idioticly big prices. Funny, but sending courier with two DVD is much cheaper than downloading them from Internet(!!!). You point fingers at Hellkom? OK, KILL 'EM! Apply 'non monopoly rule' to this mess of 'almost professionals' and divide Hellkom to separate companies! Nobody can be 'owner of all wires', it's stupid.
And one more stuff is 'fair usage policy', which is not less idiotic, than ISP prices - if I pay for 4MB, ALL 4 MEGABYTES must be my own. Fusk all those ridiculous excuses 'too much users' - only GREEDINESS is a reason - servicing thousands of people on 10MBit "vermicelli". Which law is more required is that every provider must publish in realtime their load - how much users sit on channel and which percentage of load it is. If ISP is overloaded, they MUST increase their channel or stop inviting more clients.
I hate all stupid ISP infrastructure, the most expensive and unusable network in the world. In 21 sentury people of normal countries are able to download tons of bluerays, while SA sit in a$$ on 512Kbit wire. And hell, those monkeys study me that I'm pirate because I download gigabytes! Mu-ha-ha!!...

In order of importance:
Real Uncapped as standard connections like in Europe (without silly AUP's)
Lower Costs
Higher speeds

Well priced, FAST, stable internet!

Top notch support when gremlins creep in.

no BullS*#T when i call them :-)

Quality
Stability
Redundancy
Fast disaster recovery
Competitive pricing
Good support

Customer Support
Well priced packages
Stable consistent connection
Customer support

Please help the customers.

First of all, I would prefer that the ISP responds to my messages.
It once took three weeks of repeated messages and threats to receive service.
Also, R200 is far too much to pay for i Gig.
(Especially with regular antivirus and software updates and other up/downloads)

1. Honesty - if the damn system is down, send an Admin email or sms, stating so! And inform your support staff it is down! I've had endless occassions, when phoning to support staff (Vodacom + Telkom, main culprits!); the first thing support requests is "remove your sim card/battery or change router settings!" Meanwhile their system is down!
2. No Bee/Aa support staff, unless they have a IT/Communications & Customer Service degree with 5 years experience & NO Damn Machines! /rant over.

Love the emails I get informing me that my adsl line is down then up. so handy when I use the ADSL line to read my mails :)

Simply if you are close to core networks and exchanges please give me the bandwidth that you sold me and not only 75% of it. I paid for the 25% as well. Better 3rd line support people who at least know the difference between network speed and latency.

- Good support/compitent
- Good speed
- Good Price
- Good Connectivity

Of these Cell C has managed to only get 1 of these needs right. And that is Price. I know this is not ment for business use, but i use it as an offsite internet connection when out at clients.

-- Stable network (including redundancy)
-- Good speed (min 4 mbps)
-- Competitive pricing (i.e. less than what it is currently)
-- High/No usage limits (min 100 gig)
-- No traffic shaping/throttling/prioritising
-- Good customer support (although less important on a stable network)
-- Easy line/usage upgrade options from a user control panel
-- Simplicity, no complications, just proper internet access for whatever purpose it will be needed. (do not tell us what and how to use it)

I want e-mail without spam and viruses. Web browsing without any threat to my equipment or software with no unneeded shaped traffic. Support staff should have a voice which is clear. Staff should be appropriately trained.

I think the standard, reliability, support, redundancy should be a given ... but I'd also like to see more customization to the packages. For example I have two businesses, and since I cant be at both of them all the time I'd like to have a package that has uncapped local with a high enough upload speed for video streaming so I can watch my security cameras. At the moment 2 x 4meg lines is just not in my budget. It would also be nice to have a static IP or a built in Dyndns service (like access)

Ok I know is falls more with Telkom's lines and not really ISP's. But a mobile ISP could sort that out

Simplicity
Fast, friendly and efficient customer support
IT support that treat you as a human being rather than idiot that is wasting their time ... which you pay for.
Sending updates and improvements (E.g. Increased cap when data becomes cheaper or software updates) than having to find it out yourself, a year later.

Good honest business and long term clients, rather than these money chasers that purely focus on self enrichment.

TRUE uncapped non of this "30gb shaped to 10KB/s from 42KB/s" OR Top 50%/60% Bull
Un-Shaped & Uncapped bandwidth with a decent price accordingly (R150 0.384mb(384k), R400 1mb, 4mb/10mb R1600/R4000)
(*R400/mb of speed)
1024/384 = 2.6666666666666666666666666666667
400/2.6666666666666666666666666666667 = R150
