They produce heat, don't they? I use a wide variety of bulbs but my main one is a 30w halogen at the bottom of the Mellerware box (I moved it around the same time as I replaced the fan).
not really

If I walk into pick N pay and say give me 10 kg of silverside will they know what to give me?
if they don't, then you are probably at the bread stand.

I've got a 15w in the box right now and you don't want to hold it in your bare hand.
It may or may not be enough depending on your conditions but in the summer months it's just what I need. Plus I can find my biltong at night![]()
The following cuts are suitable for biltong making
Binneboud (Topside)
Dyskyf (Silverside)
Kruisksyf (Rump)
Diklies (Thick Flank)
Rugstring (Scotch Fillet/Fillet)
Cut into 2.5 cm thick slices with the grain, after removing as much sinew (and bindweefsels) as possible.
yeh, SA summers are hot enough, but winters may be a problem, may just take longer. but yeh, you said 30W? that's quite bright for a saver bulb isn't it![]()
The 30w halogen? They claim it gives off the same light as a much more powerful traditional incandescent - though how much more powerful I don't know. Besides, it's the only bayonet bulb the hardware store had on the day.
